Visit Toledo for a day from Madrid on this guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Embark from central Madrid, and enjoy guided visits of Toledo Cathedral, the Jewish District, and more. The tour includes free time for you to explore on your own, visiting more sights or stop for a bite to eat.
Our guide was terrific, she had a good sense of humor and was very knowledgable about her material. Both my husband and i learned a lot. We were thrilled with the whole experience her partner and driver included. Everyone was super respectful and kind.
so sorry i forgot our guide's name we had our tour to Toledo on June 6th 2019.
We had booked for English tour but we at up had a combined English and Spanish tour. The whole time the tour guide always speak in Spanish group first for a long time then turn to speaking English group after. So the English group just stand around waiting for her so we can get the information to know what to see or do . So we at up wasting a lot of time waiting around for her to speak to Spanish group first. She should take turn Spanish group first then the next stop speaking to English group first.
Toledo was ok but we felt it was too much free time for us after the guided tour. The shopping is just trinkets so we just sat around for a couple hours. The real problem was the bus back to Madrid. It must have been 100 degrees in there people were almost passing out from heat. The air conditioning barely worked at all. I was pouring water on my head to stay cool. It was a horrible experience that everyone on the bus felt very uncomfortable for the hour ride. They need to find a more reliable bus company that .doesn't torture custoners. buyer bewsre Looking back it ruined our whole experience.
Our tour guide Lydia was friendly, informative and most helpful. We enjoyed the walk through the Old City. 3 monuments including a synagogue was shown. The icing on the cake was the stupendous Toledo Cathedral. Words are insufficient to describe this unusually shaped highly ornate building. We had sufficient free time to see to two more buildings as well. Climbing the tower of the Iglesia de San Ildefonso enabled us to obtain some amazing views. Pickups and drops went smoothly. All considered it was a satisfying day.
Originally scheduled a tour for Toledo w/ 7 monuments and cathedral access but was cancelled and offered tour for Toledo and Segovia. Long day but both cities very interesting, with lots of history. Would have liked more time to walk around on our own and would have liked a guide on the bus itself to give us more background information and what to expect about the places we were going and countryside we were traveling through. Also ended up running late due to a few people being very late for the bus. (About 30 min). I think there should be a clearer policy about how long a tour should wait.
Lovely day trip. Relaxing as there were sufficient free time to do one's own thing. I went to a Michelin Restaurant in Toledo. Took a long winding road due to GPS in some area being lost but was still sufficient time to get there. The group was not too big. Met some nice people on the bus. Guide was good however I noticed her narratives are not exactly the same in English and in Spanish. No importa. It is a vacation not an educational research study :) So all good. I am not there to pass a history exam. Tranquilo. Suits me to the tee. Thank you for the tour.
We took the tour from Madrid on Christmas Eve. Before the day, I got an email saying some of the monuments may close early but the guided part of the tour would be fine and we should visit the rest of the monuments before later afternoon. When asking for a partial refund, following that first message, I was told as we will still visit the three monuments with a guide there won't be any refund due. However, no where was it mentioned that we may see one monument - if that for the whole tour - which is what happened! The whole town was closed before 12pm when we got done with the first visit. The guide had no clue - she kept taking us from one location to the next and only then finding out at the closed door that no visit can go ahead. Each time she would call the main office, speak in Spanish and then move on saying how she is sorry the visit couldn't happen. At the end of nearly an hour of walking aimlessly trying to figure out which monument can be visited, she apologised and then promised us a refund. That was more than a week ago. I have emailed the organiser twice and have not seen a dime of my money back yet or had any response. The least one would think such a company could do is get in touch with those affected to inform them of what they are planning to do. I can understand about monuments closing early etc. if they do not have any information on what can or cannot be offered for the trip on a given day then they should not run the tour - period. It is misleading to charge loads of people, promise them something & then not follow through on it. i paid nearly £140 for 3 tickets for the day and saw one monument - that is fraud in my view. At the end, all of us were squeezed together with a group that came from Segovia, which meant there were more people than before in a very packed bus. It made a lot of people on our tour upset and many were demanding a refund again. It definitely shows the company cuts corners and herds people. On top of all this, the young lady guiding us was so new and totally clueless - she was so unlike the guides I've had on a number of different tours, even from Viator, in different countries. No disrespect, but once leading a group of tourists, the least you need is some knowledge and confidence. She was barely audible, her Spanish accent was so pronounced and it was very difficult to follow. Horrible experience and worthless service. Toledo is beautiful though!
Toledo is an incredible place. Time stopped there and you can rally feel like walking in the XVI century. All the landmarks are beautiful and well preserved. The tour is good, we had the 7 monuments with the cathedral upgrade and what you get is a bracelet that allows you to visit several sites. Be aware that you do 3 or 4 guided visits, and the rest you can do on your own during your free time in the afternoon. The tour has some room for improvement though. Our guide was Barbara and she is knowledgeable, fun, and you can see her effort during the trip, however she does the tour in English and Spanish simultaneously and sometimes she switches between languages before completing a sentence, so it may be hard to follow along. Also, it would be great if this tour used the headset devices to hear the descriptions and explanations of the places as many other tours do. At the end of the tour there was some sort of issue with the transportation back to Madrid so a few of us were sent back in a private van so the bigger buses could take other tour passengers. Barbara looked very puzzled about this and apologized many times although it was really not a problem for us, we actually arrived earlier than the bigger group and traveled more confortable in the smaller van. It does look like this is a newer or smaller company which is still getting their organization together. All in all, we enjoyed the day and the format of the tour, and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful city.
