Plan an intimate visit to Madrid’s sprawling Prado art museum on this 3-hour small group trip hosted by an art historian guide with skip-the-line entry. Bypass the long line at this famous Madrid institution as you explore with a group of no more than six, making stops to admire famous works by painters like Velazquez, Goya, Hieronymus Bosch, Rubens, Titian, and more.
Our tour guide was a brilliant art historian who showed us many of the most important works in the museum. Her passionate insights gave meaning and context to artists such as Goya, Velasquez, Rubens and Bosch. She introduced us to work by medieval Flemish artists as well which really opened my eyes to their genius. Highly recommend this tour to all art lovers.
Led by PhD Art Historian Andrea; a fabulous intro to the star artworks with information valuable to the educated and newly initiated. American born Andrea delivered an interesting and engaging 3 hour tour of the highlights. I highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable and showed us key works of art. This was our first visit to the Prado so its worth it to us to have a guide first time to be oriented. It’s also great to have someone explaining things unless you read up or know about the works already. Nice day and we learned a lot.
This Prado guided tour exceeded all our expectations because of the wonderful paintings we saw in for the first time and because of passionate guide Fabio. In your first visit to Prado it is easy to get confused and lost with all these famous paintings you heard about or saw in reproduction, but never in front of your eyes. We had a small group of 8 English speaking people from different countries. Our young guide Fabio had advanced degree in Spanish history and art (or something like this). He carefully chose the artists and paintings and the order to introduce them and was able to deliver his comments very clearly which is not easy in in very crowded Prado environment. You cannot see and absorb everything in half of day running around Prado, but following Fabio plan we spend significant time with paintings of Raphael, Titian, Bosch, Rubens, Durer, El Greco, Velazquez and Goya absorbing what we saw and listening to Fabio’s comments.
Ignacio from Leaf free tours was a brilliant guide - totally engaging. He knew his stuff which is always a good start but he offered so much more with humour and a range of presentation skills which brought Madrid and it’s story to life. Don’t hesitate - just grab a tour - you won’t be disappointed.
Our guide was awesome and had a fun way of engaging even my 12 year to learn the generalities amongst various artists and times. The museum is gorgeous and the exposure to incredible pieces will leave you awe struck. Highly recommend.
