Great Guide.

Private Day tour from Rabat to Chefchaouen in Rif mountains | Mar 2020
Chefchaouen guide (Mohammed) was excellent. He understood what we wanted to see and was able to communicate in excellent English. Driver was poor—He wasted a lot of time driving through towns we had no interest in seeing. He was unable to tell us what we were seeing because he COULD NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. Since we could not tell him to stop for photo opportunities, we tried taking pictures through windows. His windshield was so dirty, we couldn’t do that either. We could not communicate with him. His wasting time made us late for a mandatory meeting which we tried to tell him about in the morning.

Make Sure You Know Your Accommodations Before Getting on the Bus

star-3Dru B
I went on the 4 day desert safari from Marrakech to Chefchaouen and I saw more than I expected. The tour guides that hopped onto the busses were badasses and spoke very well in several languages. The sites were amazing and spectacular and everyone on the tour bus was very nice and we all looked out for each other. The bus drivers though barely spoke to us and there seemed to be a lot of confusion going on. The third day of my trip, the driver never stopped and almost left someone behind as we all had to yell to him asking him to stop the bus. He was aggressive and did not speak french or spanish or english so it was difficult for everyone to communicate to him. We were supposed to see some sights that day and we didn't see anything. This was disappointing. He also did not take me to my Riad that the tour booked for me and I had to get someone else, Mohammad to escort me to it. Mohammad was lovely and I was grateful for his kindness. The accommodations were awesome though! Just make sure you ask the tour in advance as to what the addresses as of where you will be staying. I was not given this information and it took some time to find out where I was staying. This was difficult as I did not have access to wifi that often. The bus drivers did not know anything so its best to know everything for yourself. When we go to the Sahara, its was amazing but we were incredibly rushed to get on the camels and the ride was quite short for such a rush. I managed to loose my engagement ring and some one my souvenirs that were in the back of the bus because of this rush. I never found my ring, but the tour company did find my bag of souvenirs and I was able to get them back. I wished the we had more time in the Sahara. It was the best part of my experience.

Amazing! Thank you Abul (tour guide) and Nebil (driver)

Private 2-Day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert with camel ride | Jun 2019
This is a MUST DO tour! Abul was a great guide during the two days. We started the first day with a pick up at my riad (hotel) at 5:15am. It was a little earlier than we had originally planned, but the tour manager, who was the tour guide's brother, called to let me know it was a long ride to Marrakesh and he wanted to make sure I got there in time to see the sunset in the Sahara. I was very grateful that he was thinking of my experience. We set out at 5:15am which gave me an opportunity to sleep for a couple of hours in the very spacious and air conditioned van. Our first viewing stop was the Tamedakte Kasbah and village. It was incredible to see these ancient ruins of of the fortified kasbah which served to protect the local village. Abdul offered to stop for breakfast, but I wanted to continue so we forged on. The next stop was Ait Ben Haddou. We had an opportunity to get out of the van and stretch our legs by going up a hill with an ancient gate leading to the village. At the very top of the hill was a lookout post for any advancing forces. Separating the village and kasbah was a river bed. Abdul took the time to explain to me the difference and importance of the two sites and gave me ample time to climb the hill. We continued to the Valley of the Roses and stopped at a shop were they separate the petals and buds from the rose plants. The buds are dried and exported to China for tea and the petals are cooked and turned into oils, lotions and creams. It was very interesting to learn about the process. We then proceeded to Tighir where we once again so a different village and kasbah. This location was previously settled by Jews who still return once a year to pay respect and homage to their ancestors. Within a few miles was the Todgha Gorge which was also an impressive sight. Now I was ready for lunch. We stopped by Maison D'Hotes Anissa where I had Tagine Chicken with carrots, olives, potatoes, zucchini, bread and soft drinks. The food was awesome! After a hearty lunch I took a well deserved nap as we headed to the end of our first day trip. We stopped by the town of Erfoud. Before arriving, we spotted a few nomad tents and underground water channels which have been in use until recently. We made a quick stop at the Macro Fossiles Kasbah shop. I wanted to continue to the end since we were very close, but I'm glad and grateful that Abdul took me there. The Sahara Desert has the most prehistoric marine fossil deposits in the...

What we paid for is not what we got!

removed | May 2019
My husband and I were VERY DISAPPOINTED with this tour, not the tour guide Abdellatif. We paid $140.76 for a tour of Marrakech and only saw half of the tour description. Our guide Abdellatif said the tour company had not provided him with a vehicle so we only saw the medina, surrounding historical monuments, Jamma el Fna square and souks. Without a vehicle, we did not see the fascinating sites beyond the ancient wall, the Majorelle and Menara Gardens, the tanneries and the modern-day neighborhood of Gueliz. We wanted to see the Majorelle Garden so 2 days later we went to the garden by taxi ($10 round trip from the Jamma el Fna Square) and stood in line for 1 hour before getting in. If we had seen the Garden on the day planned, we would not have had the expense of the taxi nor waited in line for 1 hour. What we did see with Abdellatif was amazing. He was very knowledable and proud of his city. We would have rated this tour terrible instead of poor had it not been for Abdellatif. We would NOT RECOMMEND this tour because what you pay for is not what you get.

Fantastic Sights, Poorly Organized Tour

3 Days Budget Morocco Desert Trip From Marrakech To Fez | Apr 2019
Morocco is a wonderful and beautiful place, and each place we saw through the tour was breathtaking. Nevertheless, the tour itself was poorly organized and underdelivered on many of its promises. The tour lacked an English speaking guide, and instead we had a driver who spoke only Arabic for the majority of the trip. At 2 of the stops, we met up with a local guide who did speak English, but they were only with us for a matter of hours. The food options were pretty poor as well. We had exactly the same meal for lunch and dinner every time (Tajine, soup, and bread). The tour description noted that the lunches were not included, but the tour brought us to a single isolated restaurant for each lunch, so we had no choice to eat at those locations, which were way overpriced, especially for the low quality food. Also, the Sahara portion of the tour was a total scam. We rode the camels in almost a complete circle, and our camp was within sight of the parking lot where we started. The next morning, they told us that we had to walk back, and there was no second camel ride (which was fine since we were so close, but still this isn't what was promised). And the onward journey from the Sahara to Fes was not an organized tour as the website described. Only some of us were continuing to Fes, and we were put into a small car, and waited for more than an hour for people from other tours who were also going to Fes. Then we just drove straight there, only stopping for food and restrooms, but this was not a tour. Also, several of us were told that the drive to Fes was not included and that we had to pay more money on the spot to continue. We pushed back and showed our documentation showing that we already paid for a tour to Fes, and they finally agreed to take us there. Finally, this exact tour seems to be offered through many different re-sellers, and some people on the tour paid as low as 90 euros for the same tour through their Riad, so I would look around for a cheaper option before booking.

3-Day Sahara Desert and Chefchaouen Guided Tour from Marrakech | Apr 2019
Pros: (and the only reason for a second star) * The Sahara desert camel ride and night at the Berber camp was an amazing experience. It was so peaceful and fun. * The private guided tour in Fes by Badiyah was fantastic! She was an amazing guide and our entire time in Fes was what we expected and more. * Chefchauoen was gorgeous to visit and I loved having an hour to walk around the city and explore on our own. * Small side stops to feed the Barbary macaques (Moroccan monkeys!) and a local orange grove were fun. Cons: * The tour company will not drip you off in Tangier as stated on the Viator website. They will demand you pay an additional 250 euro for the transport. Please see below for additional details. * Did not get the guided tour to explore local Unesco kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This was supposed to be done on day 1 and the only thing we did was stop during the drive to the desert to take a picture from far away of the Kabash. I asked the guide when we would go to it and he said we would Day 2 but that never happened. * Did not continue through the Tizi'n'Tichka in the High Atlas mountains on Day 1 as stated on the site. * Day 2- never visited Khamlia village nor had lunch with Nomad people as described on the tour site. * The viator site specifications were never followed on the tour (Day 2 items occurred somewhat on Day 1 and didn't experience most of Day 1 items) Overall I would not recommend this tour. The nice parts were nice because Morocco is a beautiful country but this tour company created significant stress by demanding an additional fee. I spent an hour on the phone with Viator prior to my tour to get this resolved and was told it was. Day 2 on the tour my guide told me the tour company manager asked me to pay the 250 euro fee. I spent the entire 2nd day of my tour having to argue with Viator and the tour company over this ridiculous fee that was being imposed on me. Three different Viator representatives and a supervisor was needed to get final resolution. The Viator website specifically states that the return would be to "your Chefchauoen or Tangier road/hotel or airport." I should not have been extorted for an additional fee and Viator should have resolved this all the first time I called. It ruined my vacation and caused unnecessary stress. I asked for aa partia refund as 1) I didn't actually get the full experience listed on the Viator and 2) 2/3 of my trip was ruined by all the mess of this additional fee and was denied.

Essaouira is beautiful

deleted | Dec 2018
Not sure if it is worth the money because we are confused with the tour itself. We were just dropped off in Essaouira and the picked up after 3 hours. Essaouira is a gorgeous place worth checking out though. And we would've have stayed a couple days if we only knew.

4 Days Shared Desert Trip From Marrakech to Fez via SAHARA | Nov 2018
There are many different options on Viator for this type of excursion, which made it very hard to select which would be the best. We loved our tour. The tour guide was perfect company - he was patient, very fun and informative. The accommodations were great, with the exception of no entertainment or good fire offered at the first camp site. One recommendation if you select this tour would be to take a bottle or something small to collect some sand with from the dunes in the Sahara. The guys at the camp offered little bottles, and we happily purchased, but know we could have gotten them for a small fraction of the price had we been prepared. This is a wonderful investment, we have lots of great memories and photos, and I HIGHLY recommend!

4-Day Tour from Casablanca to the Sahara Desert | Mar 2018

Our driver/guide, Rashid, was punctual to pick us up at the Casablanca hotel. He asked if we had already seen any attractions in the city as he new we had arrived the day before. He drove us to the ones we hadn't yet seen and gave us time to walk and take pics. Then we continued to Rabat and visited the main attractions. After that we continued on to Fes Rashid contacted Riad Taha, where we were staying, so one of their staff, Ibrahim, who was so polite and friendly, met us at the gate of the medina and walked us to the riad. It was such an authentic, charming place, clean room with ensuite, also delicious Moroccan food. The next day we explored under the guidance of a very professional and pleasant guide, Badiah. We spent the second nigh at Riad Taha in Fes and left the next morning for the Sahara excursion stopping at quite interesting places such as , Azrou, Erfoud and Ouarzazate. We were met by very welcoming and pleasant Berbers who took us to the camp on camel back we spent an amazing night sharing their music, stories and food. The camp was clean and comfortable. Next morning we went to Marrakesh passing through villages, towns and cities with varied landscapes and cultural/historic interest, like Todra Gorge and the Kasbah in Ait Benhadout, a Unesco World Heritage site. Rashid stopped in good restaurants for us to rest and have lunch or snacks. When we arrived in Marrakesh, Rashid also contacted the Riad we had booked aside from this tour. So Rashid always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and safe and accommodate our wishes, he is very friendly and fun.
Although the experience was awesome we might suggest to spend only one night in Fes instead of two and one in Ouarzazate, to optimize the time in each city and make the stages of the tour more comfortable for both guide/driver and tourists. We sincerely recommend this tour.

11 Days Around Morocco Tour From Casablanca | Jan 2018

This was a vacation of a lifetime. We have been to many countries and on many tours and this was one of the best. Trek Morocco Desert and Mustapha Bousdig was very accommodating to our schedule and where we wanted to go and see. The riads were unusual and types of places we liked, like the old kasbahs and the riads in the medinas. We are vegetarians and Mustapha was able to find restaurants ahead of time that served vegetarian food. All the guides they used were knowledgeable and very good.We were able to roam the souks and be around the locals. They understood the type of vacation we wanted, which was to be around the people, and that's what they gave us. They took care of us from beginning to end. When we return, we will use them again and ask for Mustapha.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Fes...

Guided Day Tour to Fez from Casablanca | Nov 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed the Fes excursion. Although the ride from Casablanca took 4 hours, we had an excellent, cautious driver who unfortunately did not speak English. But we managed to communicate with him successfully in our limited French. In Fes we were met by our guide Bedia, who spoke beautiful English and provided a running description of where we went and what we saw. Since Fes is known for its handicrafts, we visited a mosaic and pottery school and factory, a leather tannery, a weaver, and rug cooperative, and learned about the creation of these works of art. Our visit to Fes was on Friday prayer day when some of the shops were closed, but the alleys of the medina were crowded with people leaving the mosques. Since we were new to an Islamic environment, Bedia explained cultural and religious practices. We took a break for a Moroccan lunch at a lovely local restaurant. Bedia made our visit to Fes educational and enjoyable. She provided details about local history not included in most guidebooks. We headed back to Casablanca late in the afternoon. It was a very long day, but well worth it.
