I visited the city in early August. It was an amazing experience. It took us almost an hour to get us out of the hotel but everything else was amazing. Our guide Potatoe was very kind, polite, smiling and helpful. It helped us a lot. Before reaching the city we stopped for camel ride. The ride lasted about a quarter and then we were served tea. then stopped in a co-op with argan oil products. We also visited a traditional Berber house and were then offered a meal (for free). We walked about one and a half hours and saw a waterfall close by. Very nice experience.
This excursion was very cool! It had a good variety of experiences that filled our day. First, our camel ride was very cool and felt very authentic. The camels were sweet and the experience was complete with Moroccan tea and traditional garb for our ride. Next, our trip into the mountains was increasingly gorgeous, with stops along the way including a stop into an argon oil shop with a snack. After much more zipping through the mountains, we stopped for homemade tagine lunch surrounding by the highest peaks of the Atlas Mountains. We were under the impression that lunch was included, but it was NOT and we were not given the chance to think about whether we wanted to pay for it or not, so that was disappointing.
Next, we did a small hike up to a waterfall which was pretty crowded, but the sights along the way were great. By this time, we thought for sure it would be the end of the tour after zipping back through the mountains, but our guide informed us we would have two more stops. By now, I was very carsick, so if you get carsick easily, plan accordingly by packing Dramamine and/or setting up front. We made two more stops, one with a high view of the desert and one in the middle of the desert, both with great views that were harder to enjoy while nauseous. We finally returned several hours after the trip description said we would, and being carsick, that was not enjoyable. But overall, this experience was unique and beautiful, something I would suggest getting a guide/shuttle for.
Lovely trip, made better with excellent driver and guide

The trip was well worth it and very inexpensive for what was included.
My own highlights:
- Place was awesome to visit
- Driver had nicknames for all of us, energetic, and helpful thru you the trip
- trek in the mountains with our guide was well worth
- Tagine lunch was simply awesome..Farm fresh ingredients and very tasty
- Guide even invited us to his house for some tea which was appreciated by everybody in the group
- our small group of 5 bonded well right from the start and that helped a lot
Our guide was Ahmed - 'Potatoes' - a fantastic tour guide, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great day outside the city. The tour gives a really exciting impression of the Atlas Mountains and was great. My favourite part was the hike, which made me want to come back and do a more extensive hiking trip in the mountains, but it was great to see that the way the tour was arranged encouraged the abilities of all people of all ages and backgrounds. Potatoes was a great guide, he showed such a great knowledge of the area and did a fantastic job of including everyone, and being friendly and passionate about what he was doing. Would recommend to anyone, fantastic value for money and an awesome day!
