Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Traveling by minivan means you can access areas off limits to larger buses.
Spend a full day exploring the natural wonders of Australia’s Great Ocean Road. Your guide will pick you up at centrally located Melbourne hotels in a comfortable, high-tech minicoach, where you’ll join just a handful of other passengers for personalized, small-group experience. Onboard narration is available in 13 different languages through specially equipped iPods.

The Great Ocean Road officially begins at Torquay, a famous surf town of gorgeous, sandy beaches. Stop at a beachside location before continuing through several charming port towns before stopping at Kennett River. This lovely eco-park is one of the best spots in Victoria to observe wild koalas.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the scenic town of Apollo Bay, and have a swim along its crescent-shaped beach. Next up, wander among the greenery of Great Otway National Park, which boasts ancient trees among a semitropical forest.

The coastal landscape comes to a dramatic climax at Port Campbell National Park, where you can gawk at the Twelve Apostles — a grouping of massive limestone pillars that rise up out of the ocean. With an optional upgrade, you can take a 15-minute helicopter ride for unforgettable aerial views of this jaw-dropping coastline.

The rugged cliffs along the Great Ocean Road once made for perilous navigation for vessels sailing into the port of Melbourne. Hear the tragic tales of Australia’s ‘Shipwreck Coast’ and visit Loch Ard Gorge, the postcard-worthy site of a notorious 1878 shipwreck.

Finally, view the Gibson's Steps for a dramatic example of the power of erosion. Take in the incredible cliff line and offshore stacks before continuing on your drive back to Melbourne.

Stop for dinner (own expense) on the approximately 3-hour return drive to Melbourne. Relax on the ride back to your hotel, or share snapshots of the day with family and friends using the coach’s free onboard Wi-Fi.

My Wife and I booked our tour based on the weather when in Melbourne. Our tour was from the opposite direction and great way to avoid the crowds. Our guide Yazmin was very entertaining and informative. Good lunch and had an awesome day out along the Great Ocen Road

Although it is a long day it was well worth the time on the trip. Our guide was terrific and very informative. We were fortunate that he did a reverse trip since it allowed us to miss the crowds. He even found us some Kangaroos on a gulf course to watch play. Wonderful.

We had a perfect trip along the Great Ocean Road on Boxing Day, there were plenty of stop offs and the final stop at Lockards Gorge was our favourite. We also got to see wild koalas :)

The group had 22 of us. Our guide and driver Amy was excellent. She was very friendly, funny and extremely knowledgeable and she played great music! It's a tiring whole day affair with a lot of time on the road but then it does take a full day to properly see all that needs to be seen on the Great Ocean Road, and this tour makes sure of that. There were lots of opportunities to take beautiful photographs. I would have preferred if the seats on the mini-van had more legroom as it was a bit cramped but otherwise, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would highly recommend this tour from Go West.

I HIGHLY recommend this tour if you only have a few days in Melbourne. It is a long day and there is a lot packed into the tour. Our tour guide was the nicest and very knowledgable about everything. Many people I see complained in reviews below about the food but we went to the Koala Cafe and I thought the food was pretty good and perfect for a full day ahead. The only thing is I wish we had more time at the Twelve Apostles and Gibson Steps. We didn't have as much time here because of traffic and other people were late so it was not our guide's fault. If you need more time though I suggest renting a car and staying on the Great Ocean Road a few days.

The Great Ocean Road is a must see when in the Melbourne area and this is a good way to do it. We were able to watch the scenery on the bus, and our guide, Jordan, told us about the history and gave us lots of great information about what we were seeing. We got to get out and walk around at the most scenic locations—would have been nice to have more time to spend at each, but I understand that they have to keep to the schedule. Highly recommended! The only thing that I didn’t enjoy was the music played on the PA system. It was more annoying than entertaining, but at least the volume was kept low.

I'm happy I picked this tour and booked here with this company. The tour company was GoWest and everything was very professional. The vehicle was comfy and I did't get carsick despite that it was a long drive and hot outside. Not enough time for the attractions, managed to do it all but barely. I would suggest to skip the rain forest trek and spend more time on the 12 Apostles.Highly recommend this.

I liked the tour very much, really nice views and spots to be. Perfect, if you have only a few days around Melbourne. Amy did a great job, thanks again!

Everyone told me I needed to do the Great Ocean Road. I can definitely say that I agree with that recommendation! There were so many options to choose from, it was a little overwhelming to pick from, but I chose this one bc of reviews and the smaller group size. I loved the trip and the smaller group size. Gary, our driver/guide was great. Incredibly friendly, and he maintained a good balance of being informative but not talking the the entire time and leaving time to just enjoy the experience/views.
