The tour guide Dianne and Jose lovely...
, Sep 2016
The tour guide Dianne and Jose lovely, people however the limited English and preparation for our tour did not justify the cost.
Top few issues:
1 From the pick up at the hotel at 8am, we drove around town for 30 minutes. We then arrived at a museum that was not open until 10am, as such lingered around the markets for at least an hour. It appear they were not sure how to navigate from one location to another...
2 Arrival at Diego's studio - after the brief tour at a museum we then waited for their other tour guide coworkers for directions. As both Dianne/Jose English were limited we had to patiently wait for the other tour guide and her companions to finish their sight seeing of Diego's studio. This resulted in an extended 1 hour to which we were not interested in staying longer than 20 minutes.
3 After some frustration we advised Dianne/Jose to head to the floating river, for some reason they took a pitstop at the Olympic Stadium for photos. Again, tailing their above tour guide coworker.
4We persuaded Dianne/Jose to finally take us to the floating river, however to ensure we arrive at the Frida Kahlo museum in time we even requested the boat ride to be no longer than 1 hour
5 Arriving at the Frida Khalo house, we arrived at 4:20pm after so much pushing the two to get us there. Unfortunately the line to get our tickets was an hour wait and there was no chance as per the Frida Khalo's sales representative that we will get in. So my companion and I had to purchase our tickets additionally online so that we may see this.
What I had hoped from this private tour was organization and that it was a private tour. For the price, this is not justified when we were the one providing time limits and requesting the next location to our so called tour guides. Very disappointing
This tour was the best part of our recent vacation in Mexico City. Our tour guides -- Jorge and Citlalli -- were the best tour guides we had in all of our Mexico City tours. They picked us up early in their comfortable van, and then whisked us around Mexico City, giving us great information and kept the tour moving nicely. The Frida and Diego museums were amazing, and our favorite part was traveling down the canals at Xochimilco on those colorful boats. We stopped at several places in-between the main attractions, and our guides made were personable and professional the entire time. Note that this is a long tour -- we were gone around 12 hours or so -- but it was the highlight of our recent vacation. Thank you Jorge and Citlalli for an incredible experience. Highly recommended!
