Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This private tour offers an intimate way to see and learn about Teotihuacan and the Basilica of Guadalupe.
Our guide, Javier, was great! We were picked up promptly and began the drive to Teotihuacan. We stopped at the Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe on the way. It was the Sunday of a holiday weekend so the basilica and Teotihuacan were both very busy. There was a very long line to climb the temple of the sun, but our guide was extremely flexible and patient. We were able to take our time at all of the Teotihuacan pyramids. We then went to a place where they showed us obsidian, the agave plants, and we did a small tasting of local liquors (tequila, mezcal, various infused types, etc.) There was opportunity to buy some souvenirs, but there wasn't any pressure. Overall we would highly recommend this private day trip!
Javier was a wonderful tour guide. His large suburban SUV was clean, cool and comfortable. He showed us the Shrine of Guadalupe on the way to Teotihuican. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. After a day of exploring the pyramids, we had lunch at a roadside restaurant (very good, but food not included), and a tequila, pulque and mexcal tasting. We shopped for lovely souvenirs in the co-op shop. Great day!
Wonderful trip. Our tour guide Javier was exactly what we wanted. He was very knowledgeable about the site and the people that lived there. We had ample time to explore the site on our own. He answered all our questions perfectly. We learned so much about the history of central mexico as well as present day life in mexico city. It was a great day trip.
We are so glad you enjoyed your trip to the Pyramids with Javier! We take a lot of care to only work with guides who can readily adapt the tour to the wishes and style of our tour guests.
This is a once in a lifetime for most of international visitors so we know it is so important to get it right and to have your investment of time and money made exponentially rewarding.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to Javier.
Cesar had an amazing store of knowledge (and numbers) that he dispensed throughout the day in an easygoing and digestible way. He knew exactly where to park and how to make the most of the sites. We saw the church of Guadalupe on the way to the pyramids, and that was a real treat.
Our private tour of the Teotihuacan Pyramids was one of the more memorable days of our first trip to Mexico City. We were picked up on time at our hotel by our tour guide, Javier, who was friendly and effervescent and eager to share his knowledge, not only of the pyramids, but also of the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe and other parts of the city along our drives to and from the UNESCO site. In all, arranging the tour through Viator was easy and the communications from the tour operator were clear and helpful in contributing to an excellent tour experience.
The tour was excellent, in general. Could have done with less time in the souvenir area, but this is understandable. Santiago was an excellent guide, with a depth of knowledge that was astonishing. Manuel was an excellent, and careful driver in the chaotic traffic of Mexico City. What was shown of the Pyramids was sufficient to inspire awe in the teenagers in my group. Heartily recommend this tour to those who do not want a mass driven visit to an astounding pre-hispanic site.
We had an excellent, hassle free trip to Teotihuacan. Our guide Javier picked us punctually at 9 am from our hotel. The car was clean and comfortable.Javier was a superb guide and a virtual encyclopedia of information about the history of mesoAmerica and nicely explained the Pre Maya, the Maya and the Aztec civilizations in the proper time frames. We also learnt a lot about modern Mexico from him.We had a delicious lunch on our way back.We did not feel rushed at all.Highly recommended ,ask for Javier as your guide,if possible.
We have done this trip a few years ago with on a bus tour. We were back with my stepson this year, plus we got partially rained out on the first trip. Obviously, Teotihuacan is great a must see. No question about that.
Comparing this tours - there are cheaper options for a 3 people to join a larger group. But the private tour made the whole day smooth and at our pace. The Zona Rosa was shutdown which complicated our pickup, but Javier handled it well. A great day and worth the premium for setting our own pace with a very comfortable ride.
This was a great day trip. My wife and I decided to take this tour of the Teotihuacan Pyramids a week before our trip and had no issues booking it online with Viator. Being a private tour was a great bonus and our tour guide Javier was highly knowledgeable and very informative, I would highly recommend requesting Javier Tapia if you plan to take this day trip.
Great tour! It was a pleasure listen to the historical/cultural information while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Our guide Javier was excellent. He was very pleasant, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. All in all a great day!
