Moab is blessed with the Colorado River running right through the middle of the desert, and on this Moab whitewater rafting tour, experience a scenic float down the river that also has Class III rapids. This tour takes place near Fishers Tower, which is just on the outskirts of Moab, where you can swim in the river, photograph wildlife, and listen as your guide explains the geology and history behind the canyons.
With various departures during the day at 9:00 am, 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, the half-day trip can fit into most schedules. Bring the whole family on a fun-filled half-day Colorado River trip that runs about 7 river miles (11 km) with fantastic scenery and moderate rapids. Noon departures include a lunch by the riverside.
Half-day white-water rafting trip from Moab
Explore the region around Fisher Towers, considered one of the most scenic landscapes along the Colorado River
Take pictures, swim and relax as an experienced river guide rows the oarboat downstream
Learn from the expert guide about the ecology, history and wildlife around Fisher Towers and the Colorado River
Hold on and have fun when the raft gets bouncy during Class II and III rapids
Includes all safety gear, transport from Moab to the river, water, lemonade and lunch (depending on option selected)
This Moab whitewater rafting tour begins in the middle of town, when you meet your professional whitewater guides at the central Moab office. From here, you’ll receive an intro and safety briefing and get loaded up in the van, which will shuttle you out to the Fishers Tower section of the Colorado River. With its soaring spires, vertical canyons and deeply red-hued rocks, this section of river feels like blissfully remote, despite being so close to town.
Before boarding the raft for the splash-filled journey, get fitted with a lifejacket and listen as your guide explains the course of the river. Your guide will propel the raft by oars, so you can sit back and enjoy the scenic, sometimes bumpy, cruise. The rapids on this section are Class II-III and are the largest in early summer snow melts. If you choose to paddle an inflatable kayak instead of riding in the raft, your guide will provide a paddling lesson and make sure you can follow commands.
As you make your way down the Colorado River, keep your eyes peeled for birds and wildlife that can often be seen on the banks, and listen as your guide explains the history and geology of the rocky canyons. At the end of the journey, after splashing down the river or going for a swim, your trip ends with a short ride back to downtown Moab.
Half-Day Rafting Trip:Since there are multiple departures during the day, it’s easy to work your schedule around the 7-mile (11-km) half-day rafting trip. Lunch along the riverside is included with noon departures.
We took our daughters and families (12) if us on this half day (4hours) rafting trip. Our guide, Reed, was a graduate from SD University as an ecology major. He was so interesting and made the trip even more fun. The entire crew was organized and friendly. The picnic lunch on the beach was perfect and tasty. A great day was had by all!
We did a half day rafting trip with our 13 and 11-year-old. Kyle was our guide and was great to point out interesting areas in the canyon and explain the rapids. My kids loved the ride and we had a great time. Highly recommended!
This was my first rafting trip and just perfect for the beginning. Our guide Emilie hosted us with a great sandwich lunch by the Colorado river before entering the raft.I have to say; I felt super safe the whole trip. Emelie made this trip the best; even our weather changed quick and the Colorado River got little bit raugh, all was perfect. Her knowledge about the area is great.Make sure you are dressed proper & can just jump in the River. It can get hot; but there is an option to just jump off your float.I would definitely book here again & can suggest this team to young and older customers.
Really enjoyed our float trip on the Fisher Tower Half Day. Nice lunch before we started our journey. Keif shared amazing information along our journey and worked like a devil in the low water autumn run. Thanks for a delightful afternoon. Very professional group. Definitely a "do over".
The company was wonderful! Guides, food, wait times, etc. were great. It was more of a float/sightseeing tour than white water rafting. If you are looking for adventure and thrills, I would pick another trip.
