We certainly know how to see this beautiful city! This hop on-hop off was perfect. The guide was well informed, polite, funny, and a perfect gentleman. We used this line for 2 days straight, got to see all the sites. Will definitely purchase this again.

The timeliness of the busses was great. It was hard to find the ticket booth after receiving info from the online booking number. Bought tickets online and had to ask locals where the main ticket office was because there was a street name but no address to find it. Ended up redeeming tickets at one of the stops we found online. There was no sign for any of the stops you had to remember where you got off to get back on. Weather was nice and stops to the overlooks of the city was amazing
Good, but terrible tour guide
, Oct 2019
It is good to get to know the city but the comments from the tour guide was horrible, in a tone you wanted to kill yourself after half an hour and they don't say the same in English that French, almost everything is in French, the thing is that is the only company that operates that way in the city so you don't have any other choice if you want a hop on hop off expirience
Get the right tour guide.

2 different tour guides, 2 totally different tours. Our first guide had some information, but had a tendency to talk about things coming up and not identifying them as we passed. I would give him a 2 at best. The second guide, a frenchman, had a great deal of knowledge and shared it as we went along the route. He also added a nice touch of humor. The first guide asked for tips at every stop, the second only twice and was apologetic about it. Gave the first $1 and the $5.
Scheduling difficulties

This tour was interesting and the guide was fine. It's just that we had expected to be back to the info center by one so we could get the next one leaving at one - to use it to get to the river excursion we had booked. But our tour was late getting into the center and they would not let us on the one leaving at that time, so we had to get alternate arrangements - not much fun.
Needs help...lots of help

My wife and I have done many HOHO tours in US, Canada and Europe. The Montreal HOHO is far and away the worst we’ve had. The vehicles are interesting, as they are quite vintage. Major concerns we had are: 1. No signage at the stops. One simply does not know where the stops are located. 2. The route map is a joke! The route isn’t shown on the map (or the driver doesn’t know the route). The stops listed are not pinpointed on the map. 3. The “guide” is knowledgeable of the city, but the sound system is so old, the narration is just one garbled noise along with all other street noises. 4. The stops are not announced, in advance, allowing passengers to decide if they want to get off and explore. All in all, the Montreal HOHO was a disappointment. We would not recommend using it.
Good , gives a feel for the city

It gives you a good feel for the city so you can find your way around the sites afterwards. The only problem is you have to go to Dorchester Square to get your wristband to get on it and they don't tell you where the stops are to hop on anywhere else having paid online . Bring a jacket for going up Mount Royal, you will need it upstairs in the bus

Person speaking was very difficult to hear. She remained downstairs, and accent very thick. Tour made us get off at central station without warning and no explanation as to where to go to walk back to hotel. It was time to stop tour 4pm! not 5. Would have been nice if they told us that as we were getting on bus. Very bad experience with Hop On Hop Off.
Didn’t live up to it’s promise

We joined the tour at the information office at Dorchester Square..having booked online. Only there did we learn it was necessary to have been provided with a wrist-band in order to board. Lucky we didn’t turn up at any other stop. The bus was o.k....usual open-air London double-decker...minimal comfort but lots of style. Took the first leg, down to the Archeological museum. Commentary informative but hurried and pretty loud!! The fact that it duplicated in French then English meant there were few moments of calm/ silence to look around and appreciate what was being viewed. Why not provide headphones with commentary of choice? We rejoined the second leg of our trip round to the Place des Arts. On this leg of the trip the commentary was totally invasive. It amounted to continuous shouting, pseudo excitement, such that we chose/ felt we had to leave the tour at this stop. We did not return on day 2. On balance we did not feel that the tour and commentary achieved the task of being illustrative and informative. Rather it was noisy/loud, ‘in your face/ear’ and completely failed to provide an entertaining and informative commentary. We have been on many ‘city tour buses’ and regrettably feel Montreal just hasn’t got it right. Extremely disappointing, so many hopes dashed.
Good tour guide pity no route maps on joining tour

Tour guide very knowledgeable without being too boring. Pity no route maps available when we joined at stop 5. Tour excellent way of seeing the city in 3 hrs then you can choose were you want to revisit. Found the harbour front and boutiques and restaurants very interesting.
