During the full moon, feelings, desires, and emotions are said to be enhanced. Make the most of this special lunar phase with this 2-hour yoga and healing experience in Honolulu. Regardless of your yoga experience, you’ll follow the lead of an experienced teacher and partake in a ‘hi‘uwai’, a traditional ocean healing ritual, followed by joint meditation in the light of the full moon. Classes are limited to 15 people to maintain an intimate atmosphere.
For 6:30pm, make your way to Waikīkī Aquarium, located between the ocean and Kapi'olani Park, and greet your yoga instructor. Please bring a mat, towel, swimming wear, and a candle along with you
Settle into a blissful spot on the beach and learn about the impact lunar phases have on humans. Begin to enter a meditative state by becoming conscious of your breath under the guidance of your instructor.
Once you feel centered and serene, set an intention for your practice and flow through poses mindfully, maintaining a connection between mind, breath, and body.
Close your practice with savasana, a completely still pose, followed by meditation and chanting. On conclusion of this chant, a Kuha (spiritual leader) will chant in dedication to Hina, a feminine goddess that represents nurture and healing.
The Kahu guides you through the hi‘uwai, observing as you cleanse your body and mind in the ocean, and accompanies you during a circle of reflection.
After two hours, bid your instructors farewell feeling cleansed and calm.
