Overview

Explore Fremantle on a hop-on hop-off tram tour that provides convenient transportation around the city and allows you to hop off when you wish to see the attractions that most interest you, such as heritage buildings or the bustling waterfront. When booking, you have two upgrade options to enhance your sightseeing experience—a Swan River lunch cruise or entrance to the historic Fremantle Prison, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Fremantle hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour by tram
  • Explore the historic town of Fremantle at your own pace
  • Ticket valid for a full day—hop on and off as many times as you like
  • Live commentary provided throughout the tours
  • Upgrade to include a Swan River lunch cruise
  • Upgrade to include one of two Fremantle Prison tours, 'Doing Time' or 'Great Escapes'
With a hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour by retro tram, you can explore Fremantle—a historical port city just south of Perth, across the Swan River—at your own pace. Enjoy fun and easy transportation around the city, and hop of when you wish to visit the attractions that interest you most, from heritage buildings to the boat harbor to Victoria Quay to the Fremantle Prison. Enjoy the boutique shops and galleries, lively café scene or waterfront restaurants. (See the Itinerary for a list of stops.)

When booking, upgrade to one of two additional options to enhance your Fremantle sightseeing tour with a little more history or riverfront scenery. On a Swan River lunch cruise, enjoy views of Perth from the water while feasting on a buffet lunch of seafood, hot dishes and a glass of wine or beer.

Or, select admission to the Fremantle Prison, part of the Australian Convict Sites UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the prison on either the ‘Doing Time’ or ‘Great Escapes’ tour to learn about Western Australia’s convict history. See what life was like behind bars at the prison, which was in use from the 1850s to 1990s, including prisoner artwork, the chapel and cells. Plus, hear about escape attempts over the years.

Good Tour, Great People

The tour itself was good - informative, fun, and convenient. The people, however, were great. I observed Marwan take care of folks, give great advice on places to see, and make sure everyone got to where they needed to go. I left my phone on the tram after the last run of the day, Soni was fearing the worst. The folks at the prison (the tourist attraction, not where I was incarcerated) called up the tram folks who had Marwan come back and deliver the phone, which he gladly did. Great, helpful folks!

Tram was good but I feel that the food given was not worth it and when we reach there we have little time to enjoy it.

this trip was very disappointing, total time for completing the circuit was about an hour, and while the guide was good, we found we were unable to get back on the tram/bus because it was always full. We ended up walking back to the cruise terminal. In summary a hopeless and confusing tour. We have used hop on hop off buses in various parts of the world and this ranks as the worst experience by a country mile

Great hour spent in the Company of Phil our driver and guide. Saw all the sights of Freemantle and later visited world heritage site, the Fremantle prison.Even better news for us caught the first tram 9.45 and we were the only 2 on the entire journey.

I waited for almost an hour for the trolley to come which was because the alternate one had broken down. The commentary was ok but there are little stops. You have to start the tour early as it finishes in the afternoon and I found I had not got through it all. Next time I would use the free cat buses
