The excursion was a blast but tiring. First, I would like to say that everything was all planned out and delivered as said. We were picked up early and made a quick stop at a souvenir shop before reaching the beach pier. Once at the pier, we docked a fast boat that took us for a quick snorkeling and a stop at the natural pool. From there we boarded again and went straight to Isla Saona where we relaxed for about 2 hours. We drank, ate, danced, and relaxed at this beautiful destination. On the way back we boarded a big party catamaran where we danced a bit more. One insight would be to be careful with the photographers who take your pictures... the pictures are nice but not worth the price they ask for. If you cant negotiate, pass on the pictures and just take your own cameras. Dont let that ruin the experience. Other than that, this excursion was a blast.
The island is beatiful, but you only spend less than 2 hours there. The total journey is over 12 hous (exhausting!) because they lose too much time picking people from the hotels and dropping Them in the eavening. Besides, the drivers are not nice nor informative.. they keep making excuses for the delay.. in the overall, the experience is worthy but you cannot trust the organization, which is poor...
My friend and I had a great time. The tour was organized and the guides were alot of fun! The speed boat was exciting and island was beautiful. The catamaran was so much fun, we enjoyed drinking and dancing on the boat.
Beautiful island, friendly staff but tedious trip and not as advertised

Being beach lovers and avid snorkelers, we were really looking forward to this excursion.
Unfortunately, it took 3 unnecessary hours on a bus just to get to the boat dock. They take you somewhere and you change busses, then that bus takes you away from Saona to a roadside tourist trap then it's on to the dock. We spent another 30 minutes waiting for the boat, surrounded by people trying to sell every sort of thing.
Once in the boat, one guide explained he doesn't know how to swim so he doesn't handle the snorkeling and then proceeded to tell us that we weren't going to snorkel that day and would just spend more time at the shallow pool.
Once we got to the island, that portion of the trip was best. The food was good and the island beautiful.
I would go back to Saona but likely with a different tour company.
Would also not recommend this particular tour for families with children under 10. The three hour ridiculous bus ride and 30 minute wait for the boat made for some frustrated children and understandably so.
This excursion was awesome. The island itself is so beautiful!! The only thing that kind of sucked was we were picked up and brought to where we'd leave on the speedboat/catamaran at a great time. However, we were stuck waiting for more people to join so we waited for about 45 minutes just standing around. Maybe if they had some drinks while we waited it wouldn't have seemed so long. Other than that, the catamaran was a blast. The drinks were great. The island is an absolute paradise! Food was great, bartenders were awesome! And the stop to swim on the way back was so cool. I would highly recommend!!
