If this is your first trip to Rhodes I suggest you get a guided tour. Our driver was friendly but spoke little English. The bus was over crowded and I had to sit in the guides seat. Lindos is nice but the lines for the Acropolis were long . It took over a half hour to get tickets. If your on cruise and this is your only day in Rhodes this excursion is not for you.
This was a highly professionally run tour - it is obvious the company take great pride in running their tours in this way. Excellent communication beforehand confirming pick up place and time. Manos even met the group at Lindos. My only suggestion would be for the driver the explain to the group the plan for the day once everyone has been picked up, as he didn't say a single thing on the way there or back!
Our driver added a bit of humor and remembered who needed to get off at which stop on the return home. One passenger was fast asleep and when we came to his stop, our driver knew which passenger needed to get off and was persistent to wake him!
Lindos is a pretty place and the acropolis is worth seeing (although maybe without going in); be aware that little original remains - much of the monument has been reconstructed. It's also a lot smaller than we'd anticipated and had no interpretive information, panels etc to explain anything. We thought that the 12 EUR charged for entrance was extortionate - there are far better sights to see in Greece and its isles for less money and with less crowds.
ManosGoing who provided the bus trip were good, though, on time and friendly.
The coach arrived on time at our hotel to collect us. The journey was comfortable and made a stop outside the town to take photos. The town itself was beautiful and the climb to the temple was well worth it. A fab trip, would highly recommend
Amazing tour that made travel to the truly beautiful city of Lindos enjoyable with air conditioned comfort. Highly recommend the tour and the guide. This was my favourite visit in my week long holiday to Rhodes
Really enjoyed this day trip to Lindos. Arrived from Rhodes in a little less than an hour. Walk up to the Acropolis was steep and rocky. We could have ridden donkeys to the top but decided to walk. Once to the top of the trail, there were quite a few stairs to climb but all of this is quite manageable. The view at the top makes it all worth it. Village at the base of the hill was very interesting and enjoyable. Lots of little shops and cafes.
Comfortable bus picked us up at our hotel on time. Nice drive along the coast to Lindos. Drop off and pick up point were well organized. Steep walk down to the shops but a shuttle bus is available. Continued steep walk down and back from the beach. Beach is well organized with lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent, and food and drink options. Water is clear and calm and shallow for quite aways out. We did not do the acropolis tour.
