Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This tour visits small-scale wineries and heavy-hitters alike with all tastings included.
Let your guide handle the driving and relax as you sip your way through California’s wine country. After leaving the city of San Francisco in the morning, settle into a luxury coach equipped with onboard amenities including a restroom, reclining seats, and Wi-Fi. Hear tales of Spanish missionaries and Gold Rush fortune seekers from your guide as you cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the rolling green hills and pastures of Sonoma Valley.

Your first stop is the family-run Nicholson Ranch Winery, a villa-like estate nestled in the southern foothills of Sonoma. Taste fantastic chardonnay, pinot noir, and merlot varietals while savoring views of gently sloping vineyards from the patio. Continue on to the world-famous Napa Valley for a tour and tasting at Madonna Estate, a family-run winery that produces organic wines in the acclaimed Carneros winemaking region.

Indulge your appetite with a stop for lunch (own expense) at Sonoma Square Plaza, one of the largest plazas in California, and pick from multiple charming restaurants.

Next, it’s time for more wine at Sutter Home, your final stop of the day. Sip different varietals in the tasting room while learning how this Napa Valley classic grew from a small, family-run operation in the late 1800s to one of the most recognized winemaking names in the United States.

Back on the coach, savor the late afternoon sun and your wine-induced glow on the return drive to San Francisco, where your tour concludes in Union Square.

Please note: Depending on the day of your tour, the order of the wineries you visit, as well as which wineries you visit could change depending on availability and other determining factors.

Too many people- felt rushed

Was expecting a more intimate group, felt rushed at wineries, no tours at any wineries, just tastings. The first one we went to was Sutter house which was a pretty poor experience- the woman pouring was rude, didn’t explain any of the wines, just poured and closed up. It was a ~10 min tasting for 50 people.

Wonderful wine tour

would have been 5 stars if it were not for a bus malfunction which grounded the whole team for almost 3 hours at the first winery out of three. A very prolific guide/driver! Would do it again if I come back to SF.

The only negative was Sutter Home ( do not like this wine)... other vineyards were great. It was a great experience. Met people from all over the world 😊

Fun but long

We went to some neat wineries. The biggest drawback was the bus ride was long, our driver kept it frigid on the way back because he said that helps avoid people getting sick, and he was non-stop talking. I would recommend it if you want to kick back but be prepared to to spend 10 hours on the excursion with three stops (50-60 minutes per winery) and 1 1/2 lunch.

Be diligent!!

Be very careful when booking through this 3rd party. The communication skills of their agents leaves much to be desired. I called and scheduled a private tour with them to visit 3 very specific wineries for my wife’s 30th birthday. After confirming our destinations, I pay for the private tour. Once we get to San Francisco from North Carolina, a TOUR BUS comes to pick us up along with 50 other passengers. The bus has its own itenerary, none including the 3 wineries that we picked out and gave to the agent. They shy away from any accountability, saying they are just the 3rd party. They could not rebook us to a private tour. We declined the bus.
