Take a San Francisco half-day tour to pack in the city’s top sights in a convenient way that leaves you with plenty of time to spare so you can enjoy the city however you wish. With a driver-guide, travel the city by bus, stopping at major attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks. Get oriented as you pass through neighborhoods like North Beach and Chinatown, and admire the City by the Bay’s famous Victorian homes. Plus, you can upgrade to include a San Francisco Bay cruise.
  • Tour all the city highlights, including Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf
  • Photo stops at Vista Point, Twin Peaks (weather permitting), and Golden Gate Park
  • Driver-guide and commentary
  • Optional upgrade to a San Francisco Bay cruise

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

With this tour, enter the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park if you wish.
Your tour starts with pickup from Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf by air-conditioned bus. With your driver-guide, travel through Golden Gate Park, checking out the ample green space, windmills at Ocean Beach, and the bison paddock. Stop at the Japanese Tea Garden, where you can enter if you wish (own expense) or just walk around the surrounding area of the park.

Drive down city streets lined with the colorful Victorian and Queen Anne homes that San Francisco is known for, and hear from your guide about the area’s history, from the American Indians to Spanish settlers to the Gold Rush. Ride along the Barbary Coast, and cross the Golden Gate Bridge, where you’ll stop at Vista Point for a photo op.

Other sights you’ll see include the Palace of Fine Arts, the Presidio (a former Army post and now a national park site), Fisherman’s Wharf, and the neighborhoods of Chinatown and North Beach. Look out at Alcatraz Island, and stop at Twin Peaks (weather permitting) for a panoramic view that can’t be beat.

Optional cruise on San Francisco Bay:

If you’d like more photo opportunities, upgrade your tour to include a narrated San Francisco Bay cruise. Admire the city skyline, resident sea lions, and the Golden Gate Bridge, and get an up-close look at Alcatraz Island.

San Francisco Grand City Tour

Excellent tour and our driver/guide Don was personable and knowledgeable. We were disappointed that the tour was cut short due to timing to get some guests to their Alcatraz tour. We didn't get to see the Golden Gate Bridge from the ocean side since we had to return so early.

Spent most of the time in the bus. Hope that we could go down for a few mins in the Palace of Fine Arts. Golden Gate Park was a bit boring...

I was traveling alone on business and made a last-minute decision to take the bus tour. I was able to purchase a ticket a few hours in advance. Overall, I enjoyed the trip, the sites, and the tour guide. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I believe his name was Alejandro. We stopped about the Palace of the Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Twin Peaks. We drove through various neighborhoods and the driver pointed out important landmarks (buildings, restaurants, the church where Joe DiMaggio attended, where the hippies hung out, etc.). He also played a few popular songs written about San Francisco. It was a Sunday, and it was cold and windy. You can leave your coat and water on the bus, so bring them. On Sunday, you can't drive through the major park, so we had to go around it. There were charging ports and WiFi on the bus. Overall, a good experience.

When Viatot booked the tour for my first visit to the bay, I was given a choice between the aquarium and a habit tour. I choose the tour. Greyline said the tickets were not valid. I will be calling you.

My family and their children had a great time taking the whole tour of SF. We got to see areas that needed to be seen for first timers. We would recommend to any first timers visiting SF.
