So much history
, Apr 2019
Tony was our tour master for Old San Juan. His knowledge about its history, culture, and current events is vast and detailed. While touring Old San Juan with Tony, you can feel and appreciate his passion, pride, and love for Puerto Rico. On our way to Old San Juan, he would point out places of interest that we might want to visit when we have time. He provided interesting facts about movies actually filmed in Old San Juan "acting" as Cuba. There is so much to learn and do, we have to come back. Bacardi Rum Distillery was equally as fascinating. We learned that we have been mispronouncing the name. bah-KAR-dee is how we say it. ba-kar-DEE is how is the correct way to say it. We learned why the Fruit Bat is their mascot. Our tour expert for the Bacardi Visitor Center was humorous and personable. At the end of the tour you have the opportunity to make your own personalized bottle of rum that can only be obtained at the Distillery. Even though Tony is not officially part of the Bacardi tour, he knows a lot of people who work there and he knows the best photo locations. He also was able to accurately answer all of our questions, which were reiterated/reinforced during our tour.
Bacardi Rum Tour Cancelled!
, Feb 2019
Our tour was scheduled for Monday, January 28th. On Sunday, January 27th, our party of 4 was notified our tour was cancelled. We never got to experience the Distillery in Old San Juan. It was not terrible, but there was not choice for "no tour"

This was a great tour and we really got far more than we expected. Our driver Tony picked us up at our hotel at the appointed time on the dot in a very nice clean big back van. It took about an hour to pick up 6 others and Tony was pointing sights out all the way. We had an informative toured Old Town and then headed to Bacardi. Had a welcome cocktail included as part of the tour and then got on a tram to the museum and had about a 45 minute tour. The tour started with an interesting historical video and then a walk and narration about all the history. Our guide Tony was pointing sights all the way back to the hotel. We both felt we got way more than we expected from this tour. We sure would recommend this tour.

Enjoyed the tour and learning the history of Bicardi. Our tour guide/driver was wonderful. We were fortunate enough to be the only two on board and he gave us some great tips on things to look for in Old San Juan. We wish we would have had the day with him.

I sent my mom, aunt d mother in-law on this tour, all 3 are over the age of 70. They LOVED it! The guide was just terrific and gave a very good walking tour of Old San Juan. The factory tour was very interesting and a real cultural experience. Hey the free rum was an added bonus! We recommend this tour!

We are on a private tour when arriving at distillery. There were only about 10 people in our group and the tour guide was very informative and pleasant even though she had no electricity at her home for over 45 days. Nice facility and history was interesting. Drinks for fabulous.

My husband and I had originally booked this tour for 9/6. However, upon arriving at our hotel on 9/4, the concierge advised us that all of our tours had been cancelled due to hurricane Irma coming in but she provided us a phone number to call. That call connected us to Jeysika of Bespoke Tours, our amazing tour guide, who offered us a tour on 9/5 if we could be available for pick up at 9am. We happily agreed, since 9/5 is our wedding anniversary. Jeysika arrived at 9am the following morning and presented me with a beautiful rose a lovely, thoughtful gesture. This turned out to be a private tour and we were able to visit Bacardi before their closing. I can't say enough about how Jeysika made this tour enjoyable and relaxing, despite the pending hurricane. She is extremely knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. We will always remember this tour and Jeysika fondly!

The tour was okay. You learn the history of Bacardi and get a drink in cute cup. The souvenir shop is lacking and the theater is cold. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes; there's a lot of walking in Old San Juan and steep hills.

To start Jaime and Catherine were exceptional! Jaime greeted us with a hug and really spoke to us as if he had known us his whole life... he was very knowledgeable. Loved touring old San Juan and being educated on the rich history and culture. As far as the tour of barcardi it was not what I expecte

It was long, hot and boring. 90% of it is walking around OSJ. Go there yourself and save money. Bacardi was okay but way too short. 20 mins Our tour guide, Hymie? Was also a bit degrading and inappropriate. Flirting and crude jokes. Um, okay.
