Explore two of Puerto Rico’s most beautiful natural sights, Luquillo Beach and El Yunque Rainforest, on this day trip that’s perfect for families. Sunbathe and swim on a perfect crescent of sand at Luquillo, a palm tree-lined beach with sublime views of Puerto Rico’s rainforest-covered mountains in the distance. Then head to the wildlife paradise of El Yunque, where you’ll hike to waterfalls  and observe the park’s diverse plant and animal life. Your tour also includes round-trip transportation from most San Juan hotels and entrance fees.
  • Stop at La Coca Waterfall
  • Visit Puente Roto crossing at Mamayes River
  • Check out Luquillo Beach and kiosk
  • Yokaho Observation Tower
  • All taxes, fuel surcharges and service fees included
This family-friendly day trip to two of Puerto Rico’s top outdoor attractions is the perfect introduction to the startlingly diverse landscapes of this island nation. You’ll swim on postcard-perfect stretch of sand before taking a hike through a rainforest that’s home to more than 200 species of plants and animals.

Start your day with a morning pickup from select hotels in San Juan. Then proceed to the day’s first stop at the cool, mountainous environment of El Yunque rainforest. Watch for the park’s unique wildlife, including the endangered Puerto Rican parrot and the Coquí, a tiny tree frog native to the island. Along the way you’ll also stop at an observation tower, a few of the park’s many streams and the beautiful La Coca waterfall.

Continue your tour in the afternoon at Luquillo, site of one of Puerto Rico’s most-popular (and picturesque) beaches. Swim and play in the beach’s calm waters, or feel free to take a look just offshore at the colorful coral and spectacular sea life. After two hours of fun in the sun, your tour heads back to San Juan.

Carlos was an outstanding tour guide...very knowledgeable and accommodating. The air conditioning in the tour van needed to be cooler.

Transportation to and from the hotel was great. We had Jaime again as our tour guide. He was good about talking about Puerto Rico history and life on the island for the 45 minute mini bus drive to the rain forest. The nature walk was a very mild, very small hilly walk. My 80 year handled it just fine and she's not too sturdy on her feet. It was a little taste of the rain forest. The only other walk was back into a pocket of water called the Banyo Grande. Again another easy walk. Other than this, the bus took you to the sites where you could take pics. Jaime will take your pic for you, just ask him. Luquillo Beach was beautiful! It was a nice to cool off in clear ocean water where the beach was made up of FINE brown sand. There was a couple of small outdoor restaurants to grab some lunch. My big disappointment in this trip was that the beach time was listed as 2.5 hours. However, we were only allowed to stay about 1 hour and 45 minutes. We were even back at our hotel an hour before the scheduled return time. I guess Jaime wanted to get home to his family. : We needed all the 2.5 hours just to have a quick lunch and spend some time on this gorgeous beach. Other than this one thing, this trip is worth booking.

Jaime our tour guide was super knowledgeable and very nice. He has a great sense of humour that kept us laughing through the entire tour. The beach was amazing and beautiful. The water was calm and the food there was great too. All in all a great experience!

Booked this with a friend to see more of San Juan! We did see some beautiful places but the price seemed excessive for what was included. We drove to the rainforest and walked around the information center for 15 minutes then made our way to the first waterfall stop with a quick picture opportunity. Next we made our way to another waterfall where we could get in the water. Turned out that this waterfall was no longer open to tourists so made for a little excitement, but nothing happened. We were then taken to a lunch spot that was not included and as a group ordered lunch. Last we went to the beach for about 2 hours and then driven home. Guide was nice but the price didn't seem to match the activities!
The rainforest tour was very short...

The rainforest tour was very short, we spend maybe 20 minutes walking in the forest, the rest of the time was driving and stopping here and there. There are other tours of the rainforest in which you really spend 2 hours or more hiking. Next time we'll do that, because the rainforest is really worth it, I wish we had spend more time there. This combined tour supposedly combines two different things, but at the end you don't have enough time to enjoy. As for the beach, it's an OK beach, nothing spectacular, and also we went there Sunday and it was full of locals, really crowded. I'd recommend another tour that takes you with a boat/catamaran to one of the islands, the beaches there are excellent and not crowded. If you really want to see the Luquillo Beach just take an Uber or rent a car and go there yourself, it's a public beach, lots of facilities, easy access. Also this particular tour was shorter than promised, we were supposed to come back at 5pm, he returned us at the hotel at 3:30pm. I wish we had spend the missing 1.5 hours in the forest, then I'd give it higher rating. But as it is now, I wouldn't do it again.

This was an interesting tour. I had signed up for the tour that included more hiking in the forest, and seeing a few waterfalls. This was a good taste of the some areas that I will return to, and hopefully have enough interest to see.
