Why Travelers Choose This Tour
A guide tailors this ATV tour to your ability, making it a great choice for beginners or experienced drivers.
Explore the lush countryside of Saint Kitts during this fun-filled ATV ride, combined with visits to a historic sugar plantation and a batik fabric factory. It's the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and culture during your island visit. Whether you're an ATV pro, or have never driven one of these off-road vehicles, your guide will cater the trip to your experience and ability.
Begin the trip with pickup from your St. Kitts hotel, continuing to the ATV shop where you'll meet your guide, hear a quick safety overview and get your riding gear. Once you're geared up and ready to go, turn your ATV throttle and zoom off into the countryside.
Get dirty and have some fun on the excursion's winding paths, zooming past lush sugar cane fields and the rolling hills along the way. Soon you'll arrive at the historic Wingfield Estate, a 17th-century sugar and rum plantation once owned by ancestors of US president Thomas Jefferson and considered to be the first English settlement in the Caribbean. You'll also hear insights from your guide into the island's history with the sugar trade.
Climb back on board your ATV for the ride to Caribelle Batik, located adjacent to Wingfield, where you'll watch local St. Kitts residents crafting the factory's colorful batik-style fabrics into intricate designs. Feel free to purchase souvenirs at your own expense. Finish your ride by leaving Caribelle Batik, returning to the ATV shop and back to your hotel.
It's not a Sunday stroll. Very challenging 2 hour ride but Ivan was there to support me the whole time. My husband says after 10 cruises and many excursions this was by far the most fun and most challenging. If you stop at St. Kitts it's a must do for adrenaline junkies!
There are beautiful mountain views of the area surrounding the ATV trails that are taken on this tour. The guide was very patient as this was my first time using an ATV. A couple water breaks were taken, the last stop being at the ruins of a former sugar plantation establishment. This stop afforded a view of the island from the ruins. The time spent there was a tad too extended, but still a nice stop to take. I enjoyed the ATV trek overall and the guide was helpful and patient with providing instructions on using the ATV.
We loved our ATV tour in St. Kitts. Kevin and Doni were our guides. They were very friendly and took us on an amazing journey through the hillsides. We stopped at an abandoned sugar cane plantation and wandered through the structures and Kevin gave us some history on it and pointed out landmarks in the distance. We had a terrific time and will take the tour again next time we visit!
Great time riding the hills of St Kitts w/ our guide, Manners. Yep, that's his name.
Below the volcano and above the beach. Fun ride and educational. On our tour, we had Manners our guide and just my wife and I on good quality ATV's. Recommended.
We booked a non-cruise ship day and took the first tour around 8:30. Glad we did. The sun was warm, not hot, and the breeze and views at the top spectacular. It is medium difficulty, at times more. Our fear was to get in a group with laggers or people who were scared and happily that did not happen.
Wear: Gym shoes, sport shorts you may get muddy
Women: If your legs are prone to chafing, wear longer shorts or sport skirt, and sport bra
Bring: Cash for a beer after tour, sunscreen
By far, on the BEST excursion ever! Amazing country side. The weather was great and our guides were awesome. They kept us in line but did allow our teenage High School Graduates to take it up a notch and have big fun. Do not bring your large, fancy camera on this excursion. It will be filled with dust especially if you are behind other riders. Also, wear goggles and not sunglasses. That was not stressed to us but I think it should be required. Plan to get very dirty on this excursion as well. We took some beautiful pictures and I would recommend this excursion to all that are ready to explore the outdoors, see the beautiful country side and the amazing water fronts all while on an ATV!
The experience of riding over the countryside with the ATV's was very enjoyable and the guides were very attentive and knowledgeable. However, We did not stop at the batik factory on the return which was supposed to be part of the itinerary.
