Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your central Queenstown hotel. Traveling aboard a comfortable minivan, set out on the 5-hour drive to Milford Sound, passing through the dramatic landscapes of the Fiordland National Park. Along the way, enjoy plenty of stops to admire the scenery and take photos, and tuck into a delicious Kiwi-style BBQ lunch, including New Zealand lamb shish kebabs.
On arrival in Milford Sound, you will be dropped at the boat docks for the second part of your adventure – a 1-hour and 45-minute cruise around Milford Sound. Marvel at the dramatic UNESCO-listed landscapes as you cruise around the fjord and look out for wildlife such as fur seals, dolphins, and Fiordland crested penguins.
Along the way, spot natural wonders like the 525-foot (160-meter) high Bowen Falls, the striking hanging valley of Sinbad Gully, and the snow-capped peak of Mitre Peak, one of New Zealand’s most photographed landmarks.
At the end of your cruise, transfer to the airfield for a 35-minute return flight to Queenstown and enjoy spectacular aerial views over Milford Sound and the Southern Alps.
On arrival back in Queenstown, a driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
Please Note: If it is not possible to fly due to weather conditions, you will return by coach instead.
