Not a good way to view Mount Athos

We could only see a few monasteries in Mount Athos from the boat, but they were too far away. The boat trip lasted 5 hours, but only 30 minutes were dedicated to Mount Athos. Then the boat stopped for 3 hours in an island with nothing interesting. The worst part was the 3-hour bus drive (each way) without a functioning toilet in the bus.

Perfect day out with a good dash of local history

Pick up was easy the tour guide was funny and engaging offered great history of the area.. not sure there is a language he cant speak. The boat trip was amazing and then the stop off on the beach on the island for a pear margarita was the a perfect conclusion. Slept the whole bus trip back

Just a so so tour

Even when we had a small good time during the tour but it truly isn’t worth money and a whole day to try. We spent almost time on the road and on a shared boat with lot of ppl only to see some Monasteries from the distance. The highlight of the tour is Ammouliani beach. The beach is very nice but we had only 180 mins for swimming and relaxing. It’s unfair for that long road trip. So if you just wanna go to Ammouliani beach and enjoy your time there, my advice is buying boat ticket from the port in the city center to go direct to Ammouliani. It’d the best way to save your time, for sure. Anw the driver is kindly, friendly, helpful. Thanks him for being our company on the other day.

Very relaxing trip, amabil guide, funny group . The meeting in Salonic to go to Ouranopulis was in time, the boat trip around Mount Athos was relaxing and no so much people . Presentention of monasteries was recording with translate in many languages. Thank Yannis !

Depends what your looking for

We went on a very hot day. If leaving from Thessaloniki be aware the one way trip is at least two hours. The boat is good and staff good. Bar on boat but too many smoking areas for our liking. If you don’t smoke only area is inside the boat not outside. In our opinion smoking on any boat is dangerous. The Cruise past Monastery’s was good and good highlights but with bus trip consumes the majority of your time if leaving from Thessaloniki. If your planning at the stop over to have a swim and lunch at restaurant you won’t have time. If you are going to swim take your own lunch or skip it is our advise. The beach you stop at is OK but not idyllic. Overall a good experience but not exceptional.

Très belle journée, le bateau est très bien, l'équipage très sympa! Nous ne sommes pas allées jusqu'au mt Athos.. Le personnel de la sortie a bien voulu nous déposer ou cela nous arrangeait.
