Overview

Visit the historic châteaux of the Loire Valley on a full-day, small-group trip from Paris that includes pickup at your hotel, transport by TGV and sightseeing van, entrance fees at two châteaux, and lunch in a small, family-owned château. Travel by high-speed TGV to make the most of your time in the Loire Valley, and explore a classic French landscape hassle-free.
  • 12.5-hour Loire Valley château tour
  • Guided tours of two grand châteaux
  • Explore a scenic French landscape
  • Dine at a family-owned château
  • Travel by high-speed TGV train
  • Pickup at your Paris hotel
  • All entrance fees included
Get an early start on the day with 6:30am pickup at your hotel (exact time may vary with TGV schedule), then board a high-speed TGV train to the city of Tours, in the heart of the Loire Valley.
Upon arrival in Tours, you’ll meet a guide and van for the trip to the first stop of the day, at the French Renaissance Château de Chambord. See what life was life for the French kings who once lived here, as your guide shares stories and anecdotes about the grand manor house—the guide samples the best of the enormous grounds, choosing the most emblematic rooms, hidden details, and photo spots.
Pause for a coffee break in the château’s park, then continue to a lesser-known château for lunch. Enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the smallest château in the Loire Valley, as you sit down to a local lunch hosted by the French countess who lives there.
After lunch, travel to the Château de Chenonceau, following a route past some of the Loire Valley’s other grand châteaux, including Chaumont, Amboise, and Clos Lucé. Take in the Château de Chenonceau’s elegant gardens and unique architecture—the castle is built on a bridge that spans the Cher River. Find a hidden spot of the grounds where you can savor an aperitif and local snacks with a view back to the Château de Chenonceau, then begin the return trip to Tours, where you’ll board the evening TGV train back to Paris.

Wonderful tour guide, could go at your own pace. 8 passenger van, two large chateau tours sandwich a small chateau with lunch.
