Adelaide Zoo
Adelaide Zoo is home to almost 2,500 animals, with around 250 different species from all around the world. Along with Aussie favorites like kangaroos, koalas, and Tasmanian devils, the zoo is famous for its pair of Giant Pandas, Wang Wang and Funi, the only animals of their kind in Australia.

The Basics
An Adelaide Zoo entry ticket includes full access to the zoo’s many attractions, as well as daily events such as zoo keeper talks and animal feeding demonstrations. Animal lovers can also enjoy behind-the-scenes tours and night visits. For the best value, combine Adelaide Zoo admission with an Adelaide city tour, a cruise along the River Torrens, or a visit to the Monato Zoo safari park.

Things to Know Before You Go
  • On-site facilities include a café, restaurant, children’s playground, and picnic areas.
  • Visitors are required to pass through security and submit to bag checks before entering the zoo.
  • The zoo is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

How to Get There
The zoo is on the north-eastern edge of Adelaide, next door to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Catch bus 271 or 273 from Currie Street; it stops on Frome Street, right outside the zoo. Alternatively, Popeye runs ferries from Elder Park, stopping outside the zoo.

When to Get There

Adelaide Zoo is open daily, year-round, although opening times vary slightly throughout the year. Time your visit for one of the zoo keeper talks or guided tours (included in the ticket price), or watch for seasonal events over the Christmas and Easter holidays.

Animal Sightings at Adelaide Zoo
Highlights of a visit to Adelaide Zoo include a walking through habitats, including the Australian Rainforest Wetlands and Rainforest Aviary; a Reptile House; and a South Asian Rainforest area, home to Sumatran tigers, orangutans, gibbons, and sun bears. There’s also an interactive Envirodome, where visitors can learn more about environmental conservation and sustainable energy; a Nocturnal House; and a Children’s Zoo, where kids can interact with farmyard animals and kangaroos under supervision of zoo keepers.

You have an access from botanic gardens but when i was there , a lot of working along the way, i lost myself and walked a lot and finally found my way. Some animals were sleeping so i had to come back to catch a picture. But it was good to see the place.

It is worth going to the Adelaide zoo if you want to see pandas. It is a small zoo, easy to get around with young children. Good place to take children the have a nice play area and children's area to explore.
