During this activity, you will have the opportunity to observe some of the more than 25 species of cetaceans that can be found in the Azorean seas.
We guarantee the observation of cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and we usually see turtles, birds and other marine species. We always have a biologist on board who provides an explanation of the species, safety rules and the importance of respect for animals. As well as some historical facts.
During the excursion, each passenger must wear a company-provided life jacket such as raincoats (if required).
Returning to the bay of Angra we pass by the coast of the Monte Brasil nature reserve where it will be possible to see São João Baptista Fortress.
The trip will be a true expedition because we are invited , not only to know the natural habitat of magnificent cetaceans, as well as the islet of Vila Franca do Campo, one of the most exclusive bathing areas of the island.

Join in Pico’s long whale-watching heritage on a wildlife cruise with a company that’s been exploring the Azorean seas for more than 30 years. Onboard marine biologists help you spot and identify some of the more than two dozen different species of whales and dolphins that are frequently seen around the island, while environmental measures promote an eco-friendly voyage.
In the Azores you have the opportunity to swim with dolphins in the open sea, in perfect symbiosis with their natural behaviour and with the environment around us. Be prepared to be amazed by the deep blue ocean, by the curiosity of the dolphins and the crystal clear waters that surround our island. In a context of full respect to animals, swimming with dolphins developed by Picos de Aventura always seeks the perfect balance between an unforgettable experience and the preservation of natural resources. During this experience you will be able to count on the presence of common dolphins (Delphinus delphis), Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis), rissos (Grampus griseus) or bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus).
Watching wildlife in their natural habitat is a rewarding, unique and indescribable experience. Being in the presence of the big, but kind, giants like the blue whale (the largest animal that ever existed on earth) and the fin whale, among others, or seeing the fast and agile dolphins, is an experience to come!
Join us and come live!
