This tour was excellent. I can't recommend the whale watching enough. All the staff members were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were great resources to us on our short stay in Juneau. We were able to see Orcas and humpback whales.

An amazing crew on board this tour! Captain Brenden knew exactly where to take us to see beautiful humpback whales! We saw 10 which included 4 babies! Crew members, Charlie and Dave, are marine biologists with so much knowledge! So impressive! Highly recommend Juneau Whale Watch tours!! !!

Our family did this excursion during our stop in Juneau on our Alaskan cruise. It was fantastic! Our kids (12 & 15) loved it and paddled the whole time. Breathtaking views of the glacier and Nugget Falls!

When you are ready for contemplative time in Juneau, come out to these beautiful, weird, wonderful gardens. A young garden just entering its adolescent phase, I can't wait to see what the fully mature adult garden, with such an inspired designer/artist, becomes.

I booked this tour thru Viator after researching a bunch of whale tour operators available in Juneau. I decided to sign up for this tour as their 11am tour time coincided with my agenda from the Ruby Princess cruise I was on. We ended up going a bit over time due to the unexpected, yet very amazing opportunity to have seen seven whales (moms and calves) in one tour. They just popped up everywhere, it was truly great to see all of them spouting and diving at different times throughout. The group got very involved with figuring out what the names of the whales were based on their tail markings (I think we kept seeing Ember!). Shout out to naturalist Charlotte Bond for her informative and fun narration of the whole experience. Charlotte delivered exceptional customer service with my situation, in which I was running late to get to another tour scheduled at 2:30pm. Charlotte contacted the ABAK tour company, called me an Uber, and made sure I made it to ABAK 's warehouse for my afternoon tour. I am grateful for her taking care of me while running the tour, as this was far beyond what I expected. Thanks again Charlotte!!!

Mendenhall Glacier was a beautiful and sad. There was more than enough time to hike to the photo area (which, wasn't stated verbally by our bus driver, but since we are in the tour, we had already paid the fee). You have the option to view either or both the falls or the glacier. I only walked to the glacier area (it was closer). The walk is easy enough for those who have trouble walking (e.g. seniors). Whale watching was fun. We are taken by another group, learn about the whales (how they feed in Alaska). You will see lots of blowholes and humps, and a few fin sightings (this is when the whales dive for food). It happens quickly, be quick with your camera, binoculars aren't really necessary, and the boat was steady enough that you don't have to worry about getting sick (though, I did pop in some Dramamine before I left my cruise ship, just in case). The length of this excursion was just right, and one that I was happy to take. I also had just enough time to go up Mount Roberts and take additional photos of Juneau at dusk (Though that was a $32 expense just to take scenic photos).*Additional notes on my visit—I was aboard the NCL Pearl. It was a bit disorganized disembarking, and we ended up at the AJ dock and had to shuttle over to the area near Mount Robert's Tramway. My meeting time was at 3:15pm, and we docked at 2:00pm, but I got to the area right at 3:00pm). The instructions where to meet was a bit unclear, or maybe because I never found the sign, but the tents referenced are the white ones behind the Tramway building.

We arrived at Juneau on a cruise ship and found this was a better option than the cruise line's shore excursion to see the glacier. The price was much better, we were able to book it ahead, and it all ran smoothly: the bus was easy to find at the cruise ship dock and easy to find when we were finished at the glacier and wanted to return to the ship. Both drivers--to and from the glacier--provided a lot of interesting information about what we were seeing and about the glacier.

My husband and I took a cruise to Alaska and we decided to go to Mendenhall Glacier. Instead of booking the excursion through the cruise line the cruise excursions didn't spend much time there, we booked the shuttle service and set off on our own. I'm glad we did. Not only was the cost extremely reasonable, but it felt more like a tour then just a bus ride. Our driver a teacher from, I believe TX, told us stories of the history of Juneau during the 20-30 minute drive. When we were ready to leave the park and head back to town, the bus stop was jam packed. We figured, since the shuttle runs every 30 minutes, we would be waiting for the next. Nope. There happened to be 2 shuttles in the park. The 2nd shuttle wasn't scheduled to stop, but since he saw that there were so many people waiting, he would take a busload back to town. I would definitely recommend using the service if you want to visit Mendenhall.

It rains all the time in Juneau, it seems, but this is a rain-or-shine garden! A large electric cart takes about 15 guests at a time up the side of the mountain to show off the work of a man who has a passion for flowers. The driver/guide is witty, explaining the grounds. Upside-down trees have been made into beautiful planters along the way. At the top, riders can get out and walk on a wooden boardwalk to a lookout over the Juneau airport. Then, the cart takes the group back down to the visitor center. The center contains a gift shop, a little cafe, and a sitting area. Also, a TV monitor displays the image from a nest cam where a baby eagle lives in a tree on the property! Lovely, thoughtful displays. We noticed that we were the only people present who did not come here with a cruise-boat excursion, but it didn't matter. We took the city bus from downtown and saved some money! Note that the cart ride described in my review is the only way to visit you may not walk on your own. My only gripe: Why did I pay Viator a couple dollars MORE than the actual price of admission, and then find my own way on the city bus to boot?!

Coastal Helicopters was very well organized. They met us outside the cruise ship, picked us up in a small passenger van. At their HQ at the Juneau airport, they fitted us all with boots suitable to walk on ice and had us watch a safety video. The helicopter ride was smooth and the view is beautiful. On the glacier, you have 20 minutes to walk around but they will keep an eye on you to make sure you don't wander far and heaven forbid fall into a crevasse. Highly recommend you bring nice cameras along with something to catch the freezing cold, pure glacier water to drink. Also highly recommend using Travel Guard or some other insurance agency to insure this trip, since there are no refunds. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience if you live in the desert, as we do!

We didn't know there were only 4 rafts where everyone paddles. I'd recommend you include a note to the vendor if that is what you desire. Our raft as most had a guide controlling his set of oars, and the passengers were along for the ride. Still a very enjoyable trip down a glacial river - great views of Mendenhall Glacier, there was a bald eagle sitting on a branch about 15 feet away from our raft at one point. You may be disappointed if your expecting a full on whitewater rafting experience, but it is a very beautiful, interesting, and enjoyable way to see part of Juneau. Well coordinated with bus shuttle from port to river and return. Bus driver gave narration along the trip, both directions. Many eagle and salmon sightings!

Amazing food! The people were very friendly and the entertainment keep us there eating for almost two hours !! There is a beautiful creek with a waterfall, short easy walk. Also, don't forget they have a Bon fire with marshmallows to enjoy, with hot chocolate. It truly is the best value for great salmon, and many other selections, in Juneau.
