Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. The interpretive centre was built underground to blend into the natural sandstone cliffs. The centre features 5 levels of exhibits, 80 seat movie theatre, 60 seat cafeteria, and a gift shop featuring authentic First Nations arts and crafts. This family friendly site includes an upper trail above the cliff and a lower trail below the cliff. With the exception of the lower trail we are fully wheel chair accessible with three sets of elevators within the interpretive center. The interpretive center is open year round and to enhance visitor experience, we feature special events throughout the year. visit our web site for full details on special events and public programs.
