Central meeting point
Drop-off at your last stop, explore further from there on your own
Meet your guide and group at the Regent Beijing, located at 99 Jin Bao Street, DongCheng District, Beijing. Take off for the nearest bus station, then step aboard the Beijing Vintage Tram Bus for a 15-minute sightseeing ride. Traveling with a small group of 12 passengers or fewer means you get personalized attention from your guide and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Pass the Great Hall of the People, Tiananmen Square, and some other highlights, ending up in Qianmen. Stroll through former southern gate of the city and down the pedestrian street, home to the Dan Guan Lou Cinema and Madame Tussauds Beijing. Make your way down Tieshu Xiejie Street to HuGuang Guild Hall, where you can spend about 20 minutes exploring on your own.
Head north to Liu Li Chang Culture Street, filled with purveyors of art, crafts, and antiques. Hop on the subway, bound for An Ding Men Station, then walk over to the new hutong area, Wu Dao Ying Hutong. Pause for lunch (own expense), then head over to the Confucious Temple and the Imperial Academy; a visit to the Lama Temple will be substituted if the academy is closed. End there, after which you are free to continue exploring on your own.
