Returns to original departure point
Meet your driver at Cobh cruise terminal once your ship docks. Then, board your luxury, air-conditioned minivan for the journey to nearby Blarney Castle, just north of Cork.

Listen to informative commentary on route, and soon after, arrive at the famous castle. Built in around 1200 by one of Ireland’s great chieftains, Cormac McCarthy, this crumbled fortress is home to one of Ireland’s greatest treasures: the Blarney Stone, or ‘Stone of Eloquence.’

Head inside and explore the picturesque ruins and gardens. Ascend the tower to see the Blarney Stone, being sure to kiss it to receive the prize it’s believed to grant: the ‘gift of the gab.’

Travel onward to Cork City and enjoy a panoramic drive through the center, passing highlights such as St. Finbarr’s Cathedral, the Shandon Bells, the English Market, and River Lee.

Then, take a drive through Cork’s countryside, weaving through lush pastures, tiny villages, and rolling green hills, and stopping above Kinsale to gaze down at this pretty port and the two 17th-century forts guarding its harbour: Charles Fort and James Fort.

Drive down to the town, known for its gourmet restaurants, and enjoy time to stroll around the cobbled lanes and quayside, lined with brightly colored shops, eating spots, and pubs, as time permits.

Back aboard your minivan, return to the little seaport of Cobh, the location of your cruise terminal, but best known as the last departure point of the ill-fated Titanic in 1912. If time allows, take a look around Cobh’s impressive St. Colman’s Cathedral, where many Irish emigrants prayed before sailing to the US in the early 20th century.

Lastly, finish your days's excursion with a drop-off at the cruise terminal.

Not as described

Don’t pay the money for this - very expensive for a nasty bus tour. This is not a luxury tour and not as described. If you take the tour from a ship, you will be in a “half-bus”, not the van shown. We were on a tiny bus for 24 people but they packed 28 into it. Exceptionally small seats, tiny aisle, very uncomfortable for a full day excursion with long rides. My husband is only 6’1” and had to sit sideways with his legs in the aisle b/c there was NO legroom. I called the local office about the bus vs. advertised van and she said I was in the wrong vehicle. But when I told her our names were in this driver’s list, she put me on hold then disconnected me. When I called back, I only got busy signals. The driver was uncaring and sarcastic. Awful experience although the sites were good. Others on our bus were equally disappointed and complained that Viator does this a lot. We will be rethinking booking through Viator in the future.

BEWARE

BEWARE, BEWARE, you might not get what you pay for. Even though you are paying for a Luxury Mercedes Van with a maximum of 17 people, the local tour opperator (Paddy Wagon Tours) might just change you to a bus with 26 passengers if they have more than 17 customers who want this tour. You are not consulted about the change and there is no change of price for you, you still pay for the luxury van. Worst of all was learning that Viator does not back what they sell you when you call to complain about it.

Hey Elizabeth, Thank you for your message. We appreciate your feedback. We understand you originally thought you had booked a Private Tour for just your group. Unfortunately, we do not operate private tour options on Viator. This was a small groups option and had 24 customers on board. Our larger coach tours can hold up to 64 passengers for our standard shore tour option. I can assure you, the quality of the tour was not compromised and you had one of our most experienced and requested guides on tour that day. We have not altered the information to say there is a maximum of 24 customers on these tours. We appreciate your message and hope you had an enjoyable trip other than the issue with the size vehicle. I'm not sure how this is considered luxury??? It was a small bus. The young lady was just okay as a guide.
