Your 10-hour day tour meets outside Cafe Nero, which is next to St. Giles’ Cathedral. It departs at 9am sharp, so you might want to be a little early to board your bus and get situated.

Most of your tour will happen from the bus, so once you’re on board, make sure you can hear your guide clearly from where you choose to sit. While passing certain areas, your guide tells you tales and myths of mystery and magic, including stories of faery lands, elves, goblins, warriors, and banshees.

Leaving Edinburgh, arrive in the little town of Aberfoyle before heading over Duke’s Pass and stopping for a break at the Lade Inn. At the inn, you can enjoy a traditional Scottish menu for lunch (own expense). You also have a short free time period here, where you can explore and snap pictures of local Highland cattle.

After getting back on the road, pass through the mountains of Scotland’s west coast, and catch a glimpse of the Falls of Dochart. Reach Fortingall for some more stories from your guide about the legends of the area. Hear tales tied to Schiehallion, and then continue to the town of Aberfeldy, where warriors (supposedly) once triumphed.

Next is another break in the old town of Crieff. Enjoy dinner at the Crieff Hydro Hotel or at one of the town’s many cafes (own expense). Get back in your bus, and end your tour by going down Scotland’s east coast. One of your last sights of the day will be the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Forth Rail Bridge.
