10 Star for Riccardo our tour guide

Fantastic traditional food industry tour. Family run businesses were visited. All the food was amazing that we tasted along the tour. The tour went at a good pace and was not rushed. The lunch that was included was amazing and no one went away hungry or thirsty. They celebrated special occasions (birthday and anniversary) at lunch which was fun for the full group.

Most Memorable Event in Italy

After almost two weeks in Italy I can say that this tour was the best thing we did and the memories will last a lifetime. After booking we only waited a day for full confirmation, which immediately included our train tickets (via Trenitalia from Florence to Bologna) and details on what to expect, who we'd be meeting with, and what to do. The tour was very responsive with questions and had immediate answers, I always felt they had our best interest in mind. At the train station a driver met us at the train station and took us to the Parmigiano Reggiano factory tour. Here we met up with another 10 people, so it was a small group that we were with the whole day. My husband is a huge cheese lover and seeing this labor of love process done still by hand was the highlight of Italy for him. After the extensive tour of all cheese making aspects we were driven to a family run Balsamic Vinegar farmhouse to see the old, traditional ways the vinegar was made. Here we learned the labor of love that goes into this type of family vinegar and got to try different styles, ages, and types of vinegar produced here. We also got to eat a large salami, cheese, wine, bologna, vinegar brunch. The countryside the farmhouse is located in is beautiful and we had plenty of time to take photos outside and enjoy the views. From here we went to a prosciutto factory and got to see how the meat is taken in from the butcher and made into prosciutto, including trying a lot of types and more wine. Our tour ended with a trip up into the mountains to a BnB where we were treated to a large, homemade spread of food. I've never eaten so much in one sitting and it was amazing food. We had multiple pasta dishes, chicken, ribs, beef soup, cheese, salami, and dessert. Also, we had never ending wine and whatever else to drink. They even made a special small pasta dish with pork sausage red sauce for us since we don't eat beef, which was above and beyond what we were expecting. Our guide for the day was Francesco, and was the best guide I have ever had for any tour, and would glady do another tour with him. He was truly passionate about everything he showed us throughout the day and you can feel his love for his country, food, and people. He was knowledgable about the tour locations, Italy, and anything else we had questions about and was a fun guy to be around all day. I would give 5 stars, A++ review to Francesco, who really made our tour above and beyond.

Well worth the early morning start to watch them make Parmigiano Reggiano cheese ... and then we were served breakfast tasting cheese and wine. Our friendly guide Alessandro was very knowledgeable and energetic. Then we proceeded to a small family run Balsamic operation. Our next stop was to see the manufacturing of Prosciutto. We ended the tour with a fantastic multi-course pasta tasting lunch ... the owner heard I liked gnocchi and also pappardelle, so she went back to the kitchen and brought out more dishes for us to try ... AMAZING food!!! The tour was very interesting, we came away having learned a lot about how local delicacies are made with great passion and care.

Wow. This was the most amazing tour. A must do for everyone in the area. Our guide Alessandro was the amazing! The parm factory was very cool to see the process and then be able to try cheese that was up to 3 years old. The balsamic tour was prob my favorite. A small family owed factory and the product was better than anything I've ever tried. The prosciutto factory was unreal. I never could have imaged how huge this place could have been. It was almost overwhelming how much meat there was. The true highlight of the whole day was lunch though. I can't even begin to explain how much food there was and how incredible it all was. This tour is not to be missed!

We had a wonderful day on this well organized, highly informative tour. Allessandro, our guide, was well versed in the procedures for making parmesan, proscuitto, and balsamic. He is engaging and high energy. A driver met us at the train station arranged by the tour from Florence and joined the group at the first stop, the Parmesean factory. From there vans took us to the other stops and finally to a winery for lunch and wine tasting. The food, wine and surroundings were amazing! Each course came with at least two wind pairings. Alessandro and his wife were delightful. I would love to do another tour with them!
