Overview

Take a diving tour of the Galapagos with a land-based 5-day itinerary that features scuba diving around Santa Cruz Island. You'll also take an excursion to the highlands, and have time to independently visit the Charles Darwin Station or Tortuga Bay. The dive trip includes four nights of accommodation, some meals, four dives, use of all diving equipment, and transportation to the dive sites. Begin with transfer from the Seymour Airport on Baltra Island (GPS) to Santa Cruz Island. During the five days, go scuba diving at great spots off of Santa Cruz Island during this land-based tour. Includes a stay of four nights on Santa Cruz Island in your choice of hotel (select class when booking) with double rooms, four breakfasts, and box lunches for the two full-day diving excursions. You'll also go to the highlands on the first day, and visit Charles Darwin Station or Tortuga Bay on your own.

Upon your arrival at Baltra Airport, transfer to Santa Cruz Island to visit the Highlands. See giant tortoises in their natural habitat, catch sight of Galapagos finches, bird wizards, and endemic vegetation such as Escelacias forests and Matazarnos. Return to Puerto Ayora and go to the Dive Center to try on diving gear and receive a briefing for the next day.

Santa Cruz Island
Meet at the Dive Center in the early morning and hear final instructions before departing via sea and land to the diving site. Your first immersion goes 65-82 feet (20-25 meters) deep. Surface for one hour for snacks and lunch; then dive again at a depth of 50-75 feet (15-23 meters). Depending on the dive site, you may observe sea lions, Galapagos sharks, white tip reef shark, hammerhead shark, mobulas, turtles, reef fishes, sting rays, eagle rays, Galapagos eel, barracudas, sea horses, barracudas, sea lions, variety of invertebrates and coral walls. Return to Puerto Ayora around 4:30pm.

Meet at the Dive Center in the morning and do two more dives at new sites, with a similar structure to the previous day. Return to Puerto Ayora around 4:30pm.

  • The hotel selection depends on the category of hotel that you choose (Tour Options).   • Guides will accompany you throughout all excursions and visits. They will not go with you on the speedboats between islands either. Guides are certified by the Galapagos National Park - if you feel that their guidance does not meet your expectations, feel free to leave a complaint at the National Park Direction to help improve the quality of service in the islands.
