Feast your eyes on the medieval monuments and colorful, half-timbered houses of Annecy on a half-day tour from Geneva. Admire the stunning Swiss countryside as you travel by air-conditioned coach to the French town considered by many to be the ‘Venice of the Alps’. Take a guided tour of the quaint cobbled streets of Annecy and delve into the town’s rich history as you visit interesting landmarks like Palais de l’Isle and Château Annecy. Take a stroll on the shores of Lake Annecy and then spend the remaing tour time exploring the Alpine gem at your own leisure.
  • Day or half-day tour to the Alpine town of Annecy from Geneva
  • Ride a coach across the Switzerland–France border
  • Explore Annecy Old Town’s colorful pedestrian lanes on a narrated walking tour
  • Snap photos of Palais de l'Isle, the town’s most iconic landmark
  • Browse exhibits in Château d’Annecy and stroll along the beautiful boat-filled lake
  • Choose a morning or afternoon tour
Depart from a centrally located Geneva pickup point in an air-conditioned coach and embark on a scenic journey across the Switzerland-France border. Gaze at the snow-capped spires of the Alps as your guide sets the historical scene of Annecy, a medieval town shrouded in legend.

As you approach, marvel at the emerald waterways that weave their way around the town hailed as the ‘Venice of the Alps’; appreciate the picturesque tableau of colorful houses decorated with flower-filled balconies and enjoy some leisurely free time to eat lunch in the town (own expense and on morning tour only).

Revitalized, set out on a short orientation tour of the town, exploring the Old Town and its charming collection of monuments. Capture photographs beside the renowned Palais de l’Isle, a 12th-century island fortress, and absorb sweeping city vistas from its vertiginous vantage point.

Venture to Château d’Annecy, a grand castle whose hilltop perch affords more impressive panoramas, and peruse the interesting exhibits housed in its museum. See models of Alpine chalets and informative panels on the history of Lake Annecy, and then explore the town independently for the remainder of your tour.

After thoroughly exploring Annecy, reconvene with your guide and group and relax during the journey back to Geneva.

Quick Trip

This is a quick and easy trip from Geneva and I highly recommend it if you have time. Although be prepared that you really only get 2.5 hours in the city as it takes about 45 mins to get there by bus. As long as that timing works for you, then you are good to go.
Annecy half-day trip.

Loved the town! Tour guide was great. Well worth the money. We were on a tour of Switzerland, but were looking for a way to see Annecy. This worked out perfect.y for us.
A Beautiful Town

Annecy is a picturesque town sometimes referred to as a French Venice! It is a photogtapher’s dream! There is a picture around every corner! An opportunity for some great crepe choices and a great opportunity to get lost...intended or not! It would have been helpful to have been given maps!

Staff did not check for passports before tour departed and used the customers time to take a lady back to her motel to get her passport. They also returned home too early. Poor value for money.

Good morning, the tour is from Switzerland to France, you need a passport to get through a boarder. Moreover in Switzerland, when you travel, you have to carry your passports all the time. It's also mentionned on the important information. The tour is 5 hours, we are sorry if you think it wasn't enough time for you, the duration of our tour is mentionned before you book. We hope you enjoyed the town anyway. Best regards
Annoying, useless tour guide but Convenient trip.

Ultimately I am glad that I booked this excursion because it was a very convenient way to get to and from Annecy in one day. We were bussed directly to/from Annecy with no stops. HOWEVER, the tour guide talked on the microphone for literally the entire bus ride without stopping yet gave very little useful info. Repetitive, annoying, and incessant.

Dear, Thanks for sharing your experience with us, we always want to improve our tour, we are taking in concideration your point. We still hope you had a great day in Annecy and that the orientation tour in the old town was good. Best regards
Amazing! Completely worth it.

I'm a study abroad student and I loved this trip because it wasn't lengthy like other tours I've seen and we had about 2 hours of free time to go on off our own. Go on a Sunday to experience the open markets, so awesome! Bring euros (:
Pretty but Brief :-(

Pretty little town with lots of history to explore but for all the effort to get there and back the tour/day was much too short. As well the guided tour ends at 11:00 to give us a chance to walk around and have lunch but most of the restaurants don't serve lunch until 12:00 so it makes it hard to have a lunch and get back to the tour bus on time.
Good but guide talked way too much!

Tour was good, on time but our guide Gabrielle who was lovely spoke way too much. There isn't a need in filling silence gaps with pointless info, repetition or stating the obvious. Sticking to a clear structure with facts that you think most people would be interested in is the better approach.
Charming little city

The tour was nice. Our guide was very friendly, but, it was a kind of exhausted to hear him talking all the time in both english and spanish. The city is very nice and worth a visit, specially in a good sunny day. It would be better if the tour started at 11.30-12.00, so we would have the opportunity to have lunch in the city.

Annecy is wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in glorious weather. We appreciated a smooth drive by Neil but both journeys were thoroughly spoiled by Gabriel's continuous, loud commentary and inane chatter - he used 100 when one word would have sufficed. We actually purchased ear plugs for the journey home which gave us a chance to view the scenery in relative peace.
