This is a quick and easy trip from Geneva and I highly recommend it if you have time. Although be prepared that you really only get 2.5 hours in the city as it takes about 45 mins to get there by bus. As long as that timing works for you, then you are good to go.
Annecy is a picturesque town sometimes referred to as a French Venice! It is a photogtapher’s dream! There is a picture around every corner! An opportunity for some great crepe choices and a great opportunity to get lost...intended or not! It would have been helpful to have been given maps!
Good morning, the tour is from Switzerland to France, you need a passport to get through a boarder. Moreover in Switzerland, when you travel, you have to carry your passports all the time. It's also mentionned on the important information. The tour is 5 hours, we are sorry if you think it wasn't enough time for you, the duration of our tour is mentionned before you book. We hope you enjoyed the town anyway. Best regards
Ultimately I am glad that I booked this excursion because it was a very convenient way to get to and from Annecy in one day. We were bussed directly to/from Annecy with no stops. HOWEVER, the tour guide talked on the microphone for literally the entire bus ride without stopping yet gave very little useful info. Repetitive, annoying, and incessant.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, we always want to improve our tour, we are taking in concideration your point.
We still hope you had a great day in Annecy and that the orientation tour in the old town was good.
I'm a study abroad student and I loved this trip because it wasn't lengthy like other tours I've seen and we had about 2 hours of free time to go on off our own. Go on a Sunday to experience the open markets, so awesome! Bring euros (:
Pretty little town with lots of history to explore but for all the effort to get there and back the tour/day was much too short. As well the guided tour ends at 11:00 to give us a chance to walk around and have lunch but most of the restaurants don't serve lunch until 12:00 so it makes it hard to have a lunch and get back to the tour bus on time.
Tour was good, on time but our guide Gabrielle who was lovely spoke way too much. There isn't a need in filling silence gaps with pointless info, repetition or stating the obvious. Sticking to a clear structure with facts that you think most people would be interested in is the better approach.
The tour was nice. Our guide was very friendly, but, it was a kind of exhausted to hear him talking all the time in both english and spanish. The city is very nice and worth a visit, specially in a good sunny day. It would be better if the tour started at 11.30-12.00, so we would have the opportunity to have lunch in the city.
Annecy is wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in glorious weather. We appreciated a smooth drive by Neil but both journeys were thoroughly spoiled by Gabriel's continuous, loud commentary and inane chatter - he used 100 when one word would have sufficed. We actually purchased ear plugs for the journey home which gave us a chance to view the scenery in relative peace.
