  • Full-day northern Gran Canaria tour from Las Palmas
  • See the Baroque Basilica de la Virgen del Pino with a guide
  • Explore the city of Arucas and visit a local rum distillery and banana farm
Leave your Las Palmas hotel by air-conditioned coach, and travel north to the elegant city of Arucas. See the Neo-Gothic church of Iglesia de San Juan with its Gaudi-esque spires as well as cultural sights such as the local rum distillery and banana farm. You can´t miss a stroll through its neoclassical streets and a visit to the Neogothic church of St. John.
We will move to the valley of the Berrazales, in Agaete. This place is very rich in tropical fruits, wines and coffee, the only plantation in Europe. Canarian lunch en route. We will also visit the port of Las Nieves, a fishing village as excellence. The tour includes an entrance to an interesting Canarian Aboriginal archaeological site, declared an historic artistic monument.
After admiring some of the sights and learning about the town’s history and culture, we return to your minivan, and then finish your tour with a drop-off at your hotel.

This was more expensive than the Gran Canaria Full-Day Tour but shorter and not as good, so I would definitely recommend the Full-Day Tour over this one.

There was a hotel pick-up although the actual pick-up times were a lot later than promised, we set off over half an hour late. The church and the Aboriginal archeological site were interesting. The coffee plantation was the same one that I had already visited on the Full-Day Tour, but on that tour, we got to taste coffee, wine and cheese at no extra cost - on this tour, we got coffee, the wine-tasting cost extra and there was no cheese. I notice that another reviewer said that food and drink were at no extra cost - that wasn't the case on the day I went.

The tour guide gave us all the information in both Spanish and English, but she didn't break it up and alternate often - she would speak in Spanish sometimes for several minutes so that all the English speakers were totally bored, then when she switched into English, the Spanish people on the trip talked amongst themselves so we often couldn't hear the guide, but she didn't do anything to stop them.

The lunch stop 9.50 extra was supposed to be for an hour but most people on the trip the tour guide said, the Spanish contingent were very late returning to the meeting point, which was annoying as those of us back on time could have used the extra time to enjoy ourselves as well, rather than standing by a bus stop with no shade for half an hour. Due to the various delays we were very late being dropped back at the hotel, which the tour guide said was ok because we were on holiday - ignoring the fact that some of us had made plans for after the trip.

If I hadn't gone on the Full-Day Tour already, this probably would have seemed better but in comparison I feel generous in giving it 3 stars.

Pleasant trip, nice range of locations including three churches, banana plantation and rum distillery . Knowledgable guide with great location selected for luncheon. Weather not great but hardly anyone's fault

Fran was our guide for the day, and he did a great job of explaining the local history and connections to the United States. Our trip was Dec. 26 and a few of the normal stops were closed. the only

Fantastic tour. Franc our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make the day really enjoyable for us. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone staying in Las Palmas.

Bruno and Frans were FANTASTIC tour guides! They had a vast amount of historical knowledge of Gran Canaria and all of the villages we visited. They are incredibly inviting and create a comfortable fun-filled environment. We tasted local food and drink from each place at no cost and without fail, were impressed by the beauty of everything we saw.
