This 3-hour combo-tour provides a perfect introduction to Ketchikan. Begin with a 20-25 minute tour of the city, and see Indian Town, Harris Bridge, Creek Street, Salmon Ladder, and more.

Head on a scenic drive and spend 20-30 minutes at Herring Cove. Depending on the time of year, you may catch sight of bears, whales, deer, American bald eagles, and salmon (more likely from June through September).

Journey north of Ketchikan and get to know Potlatch Park and Totem Bight State Park. Spend 45-50 minutes in the area, starting at the Totem Pole Carving Center. Hear carving stories and learn about different techniques. There are more than 30 totem poles, antique cars, and weapons to see as well. Embark on a self-guided tour or purchase snacks in the park.

On the return drive, pass the Ketchikan Pulp Mill, which led the Southeast’s logging industry until it shuttered its doors in 1997.

At the end of the tour, your guide offers suggestions on what to explore further on your own in Ketchikan.

Great tour. Christopher our tour guide was excellent. One of the most informative guides I have had. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The only thing to improve on was where to pick up the tour once you were off the cruise ship. At first we could not find the meeting point.
Good Tour!

Our tour guide was very well informed and friendly. We truly appreciated that he was a local and was readily able and willing to pass along his knowledge of the people of Ketchikan.

After a bad start because there had been confusion about the pick up point, we found we were the only takers so had a very knowledgeable guide to ourselves. Patrick took us to the places advertised and explained in great detail the culture surrounding Tlingit ways and the meaning of the totems. Fascinating and illuminating.

It was very unorganized, at first, but we finally boarded a large bus. I was under the impression that they had us in a van (group of 8) but it was fine. We had a great tour of totem poles, and Andrea, our guide, was very informative and knowledgeable. Andrea was a great driver and tour guide! Herring Cove was not what I expected - we saw bald eagles and some salmon in the stream but no bears or whales. We did stop at an amazing waterfall but it wasn't really worth $80 each, in my opinion. I'm glad that we went but I wouldn't recommend it.
Ketchikan Two part Tour
, Jun 2019
First part of tour was to totem pole park ,It was interesting. Second part was a waste of time No scenic views or wildlife, just a waterfall that you had to climb over rocks to see and it was nothing to brag about suggest you pick another tour.

Disappointing. Started off great with just us as a couple & a native guide through Potlatch Totem Park: many personal insights & great historical perspective, Tour operator decide to transfer us to another coach & guide, this is where things went wrong. Guide made an effort bu seemed distracted & in a hurry, but did a good job of attempting to view bears at turnaround. No stop at Sachman ("there it is" as we passed), no salmon ladder stop, no snacks/water. Tried to allow for early shoulder season bu when compared to other trips this fell well at the bottom due to the 2nd half un-guide.
History To Wildlife
, Sep 2018
The day started slow with some interesting history of native life and totem poles. Our guide was fluid and knowledgeable & he kept us interested. Our excitement began when we witnessed the wildlife in action just on the side of the roads! Eagles, salmon and bears all together in the same place.
It was just okay....
