We had a delicious Dinner Buffet prior to our river excursion. The canyon description and recent history as was given on the way upstream was both humorous and informative. The ride back down the river after sunset was very interesting with the light show on the canyon walls and the narrative presented along the way. The stars and moon were beautiful when the lights used on canyon walls were shut off before the downriver trip was about to end.
So to address the bad food reviews... food was as expected with these types of activities, so/so, cooked ahead of time and held at temperature until pretty dry and not as great as it could have been. But it seems like these tours always have this type of food so it was about as we expected and we were not too worried about it. The more important thing, the whole experience was AMAZING. Just riding down the river in the pitch black toward the end of the tour with some inspiring music and spotlights on the mountains passing by was awesome. Pretty humbling and quite romantic. The narrative, Q&A, and witty personality of our tour guide Preston was the best. And Captain Ron of course kept us afloat. . WE loved this, would definitely do again and recommend. It was the most fun part of this trip to Moab, wish we would have gone previously. The food is nothing great for sure, bartender had no idea how to make any basic mixed drinks so nothing surprising for Utah :D but the atmosphere and experience was well worth it had there not even been dinner included. We would have still done it for the same price with no meal, it was really fun, do it!
The staff is beyond friendly. We went in October, it was cold. They provided blankets for each couple which was so nice. Viewing the rock along the Colorado river was so cool and then adding in their stories, pointing out faces, etc was great. The light and music part at the end was spectacular. It was a really unique way to experience the river.
The food was good. We needed more time to eat and less time to wait on the sun going down. It was neat to see the canyon a the sun went down. They all worked together for a different experience. It was nice to have a wholesome nice evening. Well done.
Food was a solid meal. The cruise up river was a bit disappointing. The opportunity for photography was VERY limited. The historical accounts of river activities were ok, but the jokes were very dated.
This was a most enjoyable event for my sister and I. We were so impressed with the planning and organization involved. The food was very good. The cruise portion very enjoyable. I loved the quiet time after the light show which was amazingly coordinated. The stars were incredible. I would have like a bit more pointing out of constellations. Our guide was excellent. Thank you. I will recommend it to anyone heading your direction.
Dinner was fine. What I expected for the included price, but the light show was not at all what I expected. I thought more colors would be incorporated. This was essentially in black and white. We had the misfortune of rain just after the boat trip started. As the rain increased, the operator should have abandoned the trip and given everyone half their money back. Instead, we sat through a 90 min. boat ride in wind and rain. This so called "show", regardless of the weather conditions, is at best "hokey" and overly religious even given the history of the Mormon settlements. I would not waste money on this excursion.
