    Trolley will arrive around 10:00 AM across the street from the Oxbow Public Market at 610 1st St, Napa in the south parking lot. You will see the trolley and hear it ringing its bell. Pick up is between 10:00 am and 10:15 am. Trolley will depart at 10:15 sharp.

What To Expect

Your wine country experience will begin with pickup at Oxbow Market in Napa. Hop aboard the open-air Napa Valley Wine Trolley and soak up the views as you take off. A local guide will join you on board to pass along stories about the region’s wine culture and history.

You’ll make stops at three family-run wineries or tastings rooms. Learn about the local cellars, their notable varietals and what makes this region one of the best in the world. (Please note that wine-tasting fees range between USD$25 - $35 and are not included with your ticket.)

Stop for lunch catered by Ottimo Napa Valley, a local favorite. All served family style!

After lunch with your fellow travelers and a full day of wine tasting, your trolley will return you to Oxbow Market. There are several wonderful dining options in the area if you’d like to continue exploring around Napa.

Oxbow Public Market

You’ll be picked up at Napa’s Oxbow Market in the late morning for a 6-hour tour on the Napa Valley Wine Trolley, an open-air vehicle modeled after a historic 1890s San Francisco cable car. Enjoy the wind in your air as you take in the beautiful sights and smells of Napa wine country. Your friendly, knowledgeable guide will keep you entertained with commentary and stories about Napa’s history and wine culture.

Napa Valley

Visit three or four family-owned Napa Valley wineries for private wine-tasting sessions. Your hosts will explain the different varietals you taste and give you a background on the wineries (wine-tasting fees are not included; fees range between USD$25 and $40). Stop for lunch catered by Ottimo, award winning Chef Michael Chiarello's Italian Eatery and tasting room. Enjoy gourmet sandwiches, side salads, and desserts. All served family style! You’ll have plenty of wonderful photo opportunities throughout your tour, and your guide will be happy to take a photo of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country. At the end of the day, you’ll be taken back to Oxbow Market – there are plenty of delicious dining options here if you’d like to have dinner after your tour.

  • Jackets and rain protection are recommended in the winter months

  • Napa Valley Wine Trolley operates “Rain or Shine” year-round. However, if there is a chance of rain, high winds, or unforeseen mechanical problems, we may have to substitute the trolley for a mini-bus. Napa Valley Wine Trolley reserved the right to substitute or change wineries at any time.

Yes, you need to purchase your tastings at each tour yourself, but this is clearly indicated in the sign up and if you've done any research ahead of time you'll find it is standard for any Napa tour.

Richard was a fantastic tour guide. My husband and I are not big wine drinkers but wanted a safe way to see Napa and found the tour educational and fun. Lunch was delicious. I would highly recommend to first time Napa visitors!

The Tour and Wine tasting 😋, Some of the establishment. Charges fees even if my wife doesn't drink and do the wine tasting 😒 So I don't recommend you going going ,If someone doesn't drink in your group. $30 to $40 for 3 glasses for the wine tasting 🤔

Thank you for the review. We understand that some people just go on the Napa Valley Wine Trolley for pure sight seeing reasons but it is primarily a wine tasting tour. Each winery has limited seats to welcome guests in who are interested in tasting their wines. Therefore the winery requests that those that are not tasting wines but take the tour and sit with the group pay the tasting/tour fee. Spitting the wine out and not swallowing it is common practice here in the valley. Or the winery also has some very nice gardens to wander through if you prefer not to pay the tasting / tour fees.

Lexi was a great host! The trolley is a great experience and a great way to spend the day visiting a few different wineries. For the sake of time management since each person has to pay per wine tasting at each winery a suggestion to maybe do a QR code at each table to make it easier on the wine host. Also for lunch more food should be provided for the guests. A lot of wine is consumed and that was very little food for the amount of people and wine given. But great people and great experience

We had a great experience on our tour. The wineries we visited were nice, as well as the lunch. At both wineries the hosts were very pleasant and informed, even our server at lunch provided firsthand information regarding his time working at a winery. The time spent at each location was perfect, not too rushed or too long. While you never know who will be on the tour, our group was very nice and we enjoyed talking with those we met. We even had a recommendation from one fellow traveler for a winery and decided to schedule a tasting.

The Viator ticket said 10:30 am, the electronic ticket said 10:15 am. When I used "contact tour operator", they said we need to be there at 10 am. We arrived at 10:20 am and trolley was not there so we had to drive to 1st tasting to meet the trolley. In addition, the trolley driver, Richard, purposely omitted us when he shard the grapes. The wineries they chose, hosts are good with marketing but insufficient knowledge about wine making. Wines are acid, not Ph balanced.

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate hearing about ways to improve. The tour itself starts at 10:30. However we have pick up locations throughout downtown. Your pick up spot is not the only one. As special as you may be we have other special people on our tour as well. We have a stop after you at 10:20. If you notice on your tour confirmation, its says in three different areas that your pick up at the oxbow is at 10:00 - 10:15 and it also says we will "leave the oxbow at 10:15 sharp. However if you dont read the entire email and stop at the headline you would miss this, and it sounds like you did read it through. Wines taste can be subjective, not everyone tastes the same. As you will notice from the 95% of our other solid reviews Richard is a great tour guide and the tour is extremely well liked. Sorry you didn't feel the same way as 95% of the other people on the tour.

Richard our tour guide was really great and had a lot of fun facts and anecdotes about the area. The lunch was great (salad, pizza, sorbet), everyone on the tour agreed it was a lot more than we expected. We were made to feel like our tour was unique and a special experience. Well worth the money.

The weather was pushing 115°, so we had an air conditioned bus instead of a trolley. The wineries were all super informative and so was the driver. Lunch was great too. Overall, an amazing experience.
