This experience only has a few reviews, but see what other travelers said about the provider.
Very well organised. Picked up promptly and taken for a very enjoyable meal. Only downside, we were the only people watching the show and we were getting bitten by mosquitoes, so left early. Otherwise would recommend, but cover yourself in repellant.
20 days - Rajasthan and Paradish tour.
We were met at Delhi international airport by Abyss representative as planned, escorted to the private car, driven straight to hotel in Khampur Raya, Delhi Every thing was professionally organised. Mr Tanweer a second representative from Abyss was already in the hotel lobby to welcome us and carry on with the check in process, in few minutes,we were relaxing in our room for an hour or so before being escorted again to the nearby Abyss office. Inter City hotel is a modest hotel in the densely populated district of Khampur, however, the room was far above basic, spacious and comfortable enough for one night before starting our long Rajasthan tour.
Upon arriving to the Abyss office, we were greeted again with cold drinks, and briefed by Mr Abid with full details about our tour inclusions, exclusions ,and what to expect. .etc..
Mr Abid briefing was comprehensive and extremely useful. Our only concern was about the weather! Temperature was already approaching the 40sC, and expected to even exceed that in Rajasthan. Mr Abid was more understanding of that issue, he proposed to compress the tour to 15 days so we can cool down in Kashmir for 5 days in a house boat at the foot of Hamalay mountains! at some extra costs just to cover the flights to Srinagar . We didn't hesitate to accept his suggestion, as the costs were quiet resonable and providing a great opportunity to visit that beautiful seinic state of Kashmir.
The tour was just brilliant and full of excitements. Starting with Delhi day 1, followed by long drive to Pushkar , Udaipur , Jodhpur, Jaipur, Agra, then night train to Vernassi, where we were met at the station with another driver, to look after us for 2 nights until we were dropped at the airport to fly to Srinagar via Delhi, to cool down and conclude our North India tour.
The tour is mostly educational. It provides massive knowledge of the Indian heritage and culture. It is not as exhausting as it sounds. There was always enough time to rest and relax by the pool in most of the assigned hotels. I would highly recommend to discuss the assigned hotels before starting the tour, upgrades are always possible and quiet affordable. The Abyss representatives were in a daily basis follow up with us to instantly sort out any hickups we encounter. I wouldn't recommend the night train from Agra to Varanasi the sevice and equally the trains are unreliable and very exhausting .
The car and the driver were avaliable at our disposal for the whole tour. We were complemented with bottles of cold water every day. Mr Sang the driver, was always offering to take us to nice restaurants for lunches or dinners local or international as we opt.
It was a nice touch from the Company to offer to store our luggage at their premises during the tour time, it was a real bless to move around with just two pieces of hand luggage 6 different hotels, 3 domestic flights, and sleeper train
All in all, the tour was excellent for its accuracy and organisation. I have no hesitation to recommend for all those who are interested in a real taste of the Indian heritage, history, and architecture. I deeply appreciate all the efforts of Abyss tours to bring this tour up to this standard of professionalism and to give us such great memorable time. A very special thanks to the Mr Abid the company director.
My sister and I have just returned from India, doing the 10-day Private Golden Triangle and Holy Tour from Delhi, with Abyss Tours. WOW.WOW.WOW...what a fantastic experience it was! Everything was very good and we enjoyed the service of Mr. Abid Zargar and Abyss Tours. The driver Mr. Singh was so excellent and all of out guides were knowledgable, friendly and prompt. If there were any issues, Mr. Zargar was available 24/7 and was very timely in response and dealing with any questions we had. We were so appreciative for the drivers, guides and Mr Zargar himself, always checking in on our welfare and comfort. India is a fascinating country, but very overwhelming to first timer travelers. We loved our trip and are very happy and satisfied with Abyss Tours. We would definitely recommend them and I am actually looking forward to another trip to India with them......Kerala next time, I think!
I have never booked a tour like this so I wasn't sure what to expect. In India - everyone hires a driver since driving standards are quite different. This tour was great! Ali ,our driver was safe, kind and witty. We had a comfy, clean, air conditioned car. Ali even thought to put bottle water in the car. He drove us to Agra where we met our tour guide Khan. Afterwards we drove to Jaipur where another tour guide Ali met us. I learned that the tour guides go to guide school. The tour guides are so knowledgable of Indian history. We were offered an itinerary but learned we could modify it . It was great!
We all generally enjoyed the tour but it was a bit disappointing from the start to find out that when we were in Delhi Red Fort and Lotus monument was shut on a Monday so we didn't see them. The guide was very knowledgeable and thenride in the rickshaw was a highlight in this mad, dirty, noisy, vibrant city. We did the sound and light show which was a bit of a rip off as the meal we got was like an Indian Macdonalds, very disappointing considering what we paid for it and what the entrance fee was. On the main tour we were taken to the more western area of Connaught Place for lunch at Accord 21 I think it was called. The lunch was over 50 which really, shocked us and we knew if this continued we would run out of money. Also no one gave us a heads up that 99 of the monuments was 500 rupees each which soon started to add up. We would also have liked some guidance on tips for guides and drivers as that was the most tiring part of the trip constantly being pressured to tip everyone. The actual itinerary was good and the hotel was okay. The Ghandi memorial park was an extra stop which we enjoyed. Long drive to Jaipur which was fascinating but you could not go into town after 9pm, not safe, and then to Agra along pretty hectic roads with constant horns being blown. We were told that the Taj Mahal was closed on Friday while we there so I asked for them to arrange for us to have a visit as soon as we arrived at Agra. We were all pretty exhausted going round it but couldn't miss it. Next day we saw the Agra Fort which was interesting and then we requested missing the mausoleum and wanted to go to the park on the opposite side of the river to the Taj Mahal. We were dropped at the station, a good hours drive away to get on the overnight train to Varanasi, unfortunately we were not in a 4 bed compartment but were in the aisle which was very disappointing considering how long ago we booked this trip. These are just heads up for anyone booking this trip in the future, learning by our mistakes. The guide in Varanasi was brilliant and we all connected with him and the place, this was the highlight of the tour for us. The only thing that could have improved this part of the trip would have been for all of us to be in the same car like the rest of the trip, but apparently it had broken down, hence more tips! Hotel good but no fridge and no ice
I would recommend this tour, the hotels that were booked and the drivers arranged were all good. Of course you expect some guides to be hit and miss but all were well prepared, knowledgeable. Unfortunately the train was cancelled from Agra to Varanasi but was not a shock to the system. My wife and I travel privately with the company.
Overall the trip was organized well. Nice hotels. Great places, in particularly in Rajestan. Our driver was definitely a highlight of the trip, courteous, caring and 100% on time. A lowlight was the guide in Agra, who seemed in cahoots with Taj Mahal security to pocket admission money from clients.
The driver was superb. At each stop we had a excellent guide ready to assist in our discovery of the amazing sites.
