Excellent trip through 6 locks and a man made lake. Cant experience the enormity of the Canal and the infrastructure / personal required unless you take this trip. The commentary was superb and the boat was perfect size to move around and take photos.
Thank you for sharing your great experience. We are more than happy that you enjoyed your Panama Canal Transit with us. As you mentioned, this is the best way to know and experience all there is about the Panama Canal. All the best, Thelma
The trip was amazing! It was well organized! Enjoyed everything! The food was good, but maybe little limited for my vegetarian daughter. Also would have been nice to know that my hotel pick up was not available due to distance. During the registration, it should say how far away the pickups are scheduled. We had to get our own transportation to Marina. Otherwise, it was great!
We had a wonderful time on the full transit tour. I'm so glad we did the full day instead of the half day. The boat was nice and comfortable, and the food was better than I expected. I highly recommend this tour. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and seeing the canal from this boat was worth every penny. Highly recommend!
This tour is the experience of a lifetime and certain to please any curious or seasoned traveler. Staff is stellar; very courteous, organized, and well-prepared! Our tour narrator, Gus, is unparalleled in his knowledge, enthusiasm, energy, and sense of humor. While the full transit makes for a long day, we believe a partial transit would have diminished the awe and magic of the canal's history and grandeur. Worthy of anyone's bucket list, this tour is definitely a magnificent highlight of our vacation.
To actually transit one of the Wonders of the World namely the Panama Canal must be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The tour vessel guide Gus is great and the service is terrific, if somewhat regimented. There is no way to describe the amazement I felt actually using the functioning equipment installed over 100 years ago and still going strong. Being in close proximity to some of the giant container, car carrier, liquid gas, petroleum, loose dry goods and assorted other vessels gives one a sense of awe. Learning about the hardships and successes of the construction left me with a feeling of great respect and wonder. Understanding the volume of useage is staggering. Don't forget the sunscreen and if you plan on staying on the open decks I recommend long pants and long sleeve shirt to prevent windburn even with the high temperature and humidity. Also, don't expect a lot of courtesy form the picture hounds who seem to leave their manners in their hotel rooms. For the less adventureous, the enclosed decks are air-conditioned but the views are limited. Finally, be prepared for a very long day.
