Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This tour takes a deep dive into the history and significance of the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Your historical city tour begins at a location in central Paris, where you’ll meet your guide and hop aboard a comfortable coach for the drive to some of the French capital’s oldest and most fascinating sites. As you go, learn about the importance of these attractions from your guide.
Pass by Place Vendome and Palais Garnier, Paris’ famed opera house and the setting for The Phantom of the Opera, and admire the intricate architecture of the Louvre and Hotel de Ville, the city hall. Check out Bastille Square (Place de la Bastille), an important French Revolution site, and drive through popular neighborhoods like the elegant Marais and lively Latin Quarter, home to the Sorbonne. Visit one of Paris’ largest parks, Luxembourg Gardens (Jardin du Luxembourg), and pass through the St-Germain-des-Prés district where writers and other intellectual figures like Ernest Hemingway, Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre used to spend their time.
Next, you’ll head to Ile de la Cité, one of the islands in the Seine, either via a short river cruise (during warmer months) or by minicoach (during the winter). When you arrive on the small island, head inside Notre Dame Cathedral with your guide to marvel at its Gothic architecture and learn about its centuries-old past, including what damage it incurred by the events of the Revolution.
Your tour then ends with the coach ride back to your departure point.
Please note: On Sundays and during mass services, you will not be allowed to enter the cathedral. The commentary will take place in the square outside.

NIce 1/2 day tour in Paris. I would recommend it if you want a guided tour of Norte Dame, rather than trying to take your own audio tour or simply just trying to do it yourself. The small group was intimate and not rushed. You had plenty of time to enjoy Notre Dame and the added value was that you learned a good bit about the neighborhoods surrounding the Sorbonne and the Latin Quarter in general. I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour of the cathedral was enlightening, though we sometimes feared losing our guide in the crowds. It was nice to see the site of so much history--and even to learn that Notre Dame had not been as historically significant as most of us believe. The Batobus river tour was great: we rode it around the whole circuit and saw many onshore marvels, houseboats, moored restaurants, and other river traffic.
This was a good tour and our guide was very knowledgeable, I just wish he had spent a little less time pointing stuff out outside the Cathedral and had accompanied us into the Cathedral to point out highlights.
This was one of our two most disappointing tours on the entire 4 country trip. It was disappointing because the sightseeing tour was very minimal - I thought we would be roaming through old parts of Paris but we basically drove around while they pointed out 2 or 3 things. Also, the trip was supposed to be a half day trip however, we were on the bus about an hour, then toured Notre Dame which is free by the way and the line moves quickly and then we were given tickets for the water taxi and told we could return whenever. It was about a 2 hour tour and not worth the money.
Our guide was very interesting. She even had to deal with a change in plans at Notre Dame Cathedral. When we arrived, they had temporarily had closed the area and so she quickly made some calls and off we went. We were able to get inside later in the tour and she gave a really in depth description of the cathedral, which was great I have been 3 times before and still heard something new!.
We had a good time, but there were 2 issues with the tour: 1. We had not been told it would be a bilingual tour with the tour guide speaking in both English and Spanish. We found this very distracting. 2. It was supposed to be a 3 hour and 45 minute tour and all it was was a 1 hour and 15 minute bus tour and 20 minute guided tour through Notre Dame cathedral. The 2 parts were pretty good, but do not say it is almost a 4 hour tour when it is really less than 2 hours long.
This is a very concise tour of Paris. If you don't have a lot of time to spend sightseeing, this would be the ideal choice. It was great going around in the tour bus as the weather was not great. The guide was very informative and made the information very interesting.
could have been a 5 star, but the guide handled the English tour with 2 French visitors. He spoke English, but then also did the French narration. This seemed to interrupt the flow of information, and we only felt like we got half of the narration.
