Your half-day tour starts at a central location in Paris, where you’ll meet your guide and board your coach or minibus. Head north to Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement, and walk around this lively and charming quarter with your guide.
Learn about Montmartre’s rich history, which dates back many centuries and includes the era when artists like Monet, Dalí, Picasso and Van Gogh lived, worked and socialized here. Hop on the funicular to ride up to the top of the hill, where you can admire a panoramic view over the city. Then head inside Basilique du Sacré-Coeur, known for its Romanesque and Byzantine architecture. You have time to explore the basilica on your own before returning to the bus for the drive to the Louvre.
When you arrive, cruise past the ticket queue with your skip-the-line admission, and follow your guide along the esteemed hallways of this world-renowned museum. See its best-known pieces such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and Venus de Milo, an ancient Greek statue, and marvel at other works such as Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People and Géricault's The Raft of the Medusa.
When your guided tour of the Louvre ends, you are free to stay at the museum on your own to continue exploring its treasures, or return to your original departure point on the tour bus. (Note: On Wednesdays and Fridays, the Louvre is open later; on these days, it is possible to stay until 9:45pm at no additional charge).
