Thank you for a great review and for taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor. Those nose to nose encounters with turtles and nurse special!

We had 11 people on this trip. 4 adults 7 kids age 18-7. The adventure was great, one thing you need to know if you go to the Silk Caye is it is an hour and 15 boat ride to get there. Be sure to take motion medication. The day we went it was really windy, huge waves. Captain and crew were very helpful. We went to two spots, the water and snorkeling were incredible around the tiny island. Lunch was delicious. BUT then is was time to go to the final spot and it did not disappoint. Nurse sharks, a huge turtle, and several rays!!! Unbelievable! it was a Thanksgiving we will never forget. It was our grandkids favorite day! The return was much smoother....We would do it again!

Patty and I are really happy to hear you had a great time even with the rough boat ride. We usually get there a little faster but the sea state can make it a little more of adventure. We like to joke that the trip back is dowhill so usually smoother. Our crews love to share their knowledge of love of Belize with our guests. Splash wants to teach the world about the world about the beauty of Belize and to protect and preserve this special place. We urge our guests to become ambassadors for Belize to support this value and you certainly qualify as an ambassador for Splash and Belize!
Fantastic snorkeling experience
, Dec 2018
What an amazing day -- weather not great (cloudy and periodic rain, but little wind), but that didn't really matter because the highlight was underwater. Splash Dive Center owner was very helpful, even offered us alternatives if we were bothered by the weather, but we wisely decided to go for it. There were about 14 snorkelers including our family, on a large boat. About an hour boat ride to Silk Cayes where we did one snorkel around one of the islands that lasted 45-60 minutes, then lunch on the boat (would have been on caye but rain was coming), then another long snorkel (45-60 minutes) followed by a shorter one. There was roughly one guide per four snorkelers, and they were great about pointing out things of interest (then briefly surfacing to tell us more). Huge variety of beautiful fish, both individuals and schools, as well as much beautiful coral. Also saw barracuda, stingray, and eagle ray on these first 2 snorkels. Third snorkel was around the boat in an area where fishermen clean their catch. None were there that day, but our boat still attracted nurse sharks and sea turtles, which was an amazing sight. All of these things we saw were close enough to touch.Overall, a wonderful experience, with professional and friendly guides. All 4 of us were very glad we did this, something to remember forever. We used snorkel gear provided by the dive center.
Tolle Schnorcheltour
, Dec 2019

Google Translation Overall, a great and impressive tour. A must for snorkelers. Unfortunately, we think that the first stop is too long. From a local point of view, shorten the time a bit and plan another stop for it. The price of TripAdvistor or Viator is about 50% more expensive than that of local providers. Response Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to review our Silk Cayes tour on Trip Advisor. The vast majority of our guests give this tour a five star rating so we will continue as is. There are some companies that complete on the basis of price - at Splash we compete on the basis of quality and safety. We have a lower ratio of divers per dive master or snorkelers per snorkel guide, provide towels, snacks and juice at our dive center, provide complimentary pickup and drop off along the main road in the village, have well maintained boats with all the required safety equipment), we have prescription masks for divers or snorkelers who are either near sighted or far sighted, probably the only dive center in Belize with satellite phone on our main boat for long distance trips like to the Blue Hole so that we can communicate with shore at all times - so our costs are higher. We are one of the two dive operations in this area that offer nitrox. In addition, we have community support programs such as our kids program (where we teach local kids to dive for free - and have done more than 150 certifications to date which again results in us having higher costs. Two of the “kids” are now at instructor level. We also sponsor the End of The World Marathon each December and recently have been supporting the kids running clubs and including a week long running camp. Belize is a poor but developing country and needs these kinds of programs. GDP per person is $8300 compared to $ 59 500 for the USA or $ 48 300 for Canada. All this adds costs but we think it brings value and many of our guests prefer to dive, snorkel and tour with Splash because of our responsibility programs. That may be why The Belize Tourisma Board selected Splash as operator of the year for 2016 and 2014 and awarded us the Hospitality Award for 2016. We are highly recommended in Moon Belize and the only dive center to be awarded a star in Lonely Planet Belize.
