Begin your evening tour when you meet your friendly local guide at a central meeting point.

Listen to an appetite-whetting introduction to Prague’s beer scene, and hear how Wenceslas Square was pivotal in Prague’s recent history, presiding over the protests that kick-started the 1989 Velvet Revolution.

Then, start your explorations of the city’s beer haunts. Along the way, ride Prague’s public trams and metro trains where necessary (tickets are included), and call at several inviting bars and pubs, as well as a trendy microbrewery.

Board a tram on route to a popular beer hall in Žižkov, a former industrial district that’s now the hub of Prague's nightlife. Take your pick from 10 types of beer, from well-known Czech brands to under-the-radar brews from up-and-coming microbreweries. Team your brew with mouth-watering pork chili served with horseradish and mustard, and as you eat and drink, peruse the pictures of communist Czech presidents that coat the walls as your guide tells stories about life in Prague during the communist era.

Next, ride the metro to the Vinohrady area. Visit a pub with 27 beers on tap and choose a brew that takes your fancy, with tips from your guide. Enjoy your beer with a classic Czech snack—pickled sausage. Then, continue to another watering hole, chosen by your guide on the day, depending on, for instance, if it has a band playing or specialty brew on tap.

Move on to another atmospheric pub in Prague Old Town. Head inside to sample the Czech Republic’s iconic Pilsner Urquell beer from a tank rather than a keg, and as you savor the flavor, learn about the invention of Pilsner, one of the world’s best-loved beers.

Finish your tour with a last glass at a welcoming microbrewery. Then, say goodbye to your guide, and receive a complimentary map of Prague’s best beer halls—perfect if you’re planning to continue your beer-tasting adventures independently.

Wonderful Beer Tour!

We took the Prague Beer and Czech Tapas Evening Walking Tour with Johanka and had such a wonderful time! She has a very vibrant personality and it is obvious she loves her home and sharing the history and culture about it with her clients. We visited several local bars and had a variety of beer at each place as well as very good bar food! From sausages to cheese and breads, it was filling and paired very well with the beer. I highly recommend taking this tour any evening you are in Prague. We would absolutely do it again!!!!

Had an awesome tour and got to try some local beers. My guilde was very informative and funny. Due to low numbers, it was a group of, 1. But it was definitely worth it, and they didn't cancel on me! I had another tour scheduled the previous day that did. Huge shout out to my guide Lukáš Vondra for showing me some bigger places to drink, as well as some of the more local places and having an extensive knowledge on beer! Only thing that was alittle confusing is the meet point is at the statue, my gps took me about a block south, but I called the agency and they took care of me. Would highly recommend and would definitely do it again.

Was lucky enough to unexpectedly get a private tour with Johanka due to the low number of tourists in Prague. Tour was well paced, filled with lots of great info and interesting tidbits about the city. We stopped at three different bars and enjoyed some great beer and delicious tapas. Johanka is very knowledgeable about both this beautiful city and it’s beer. I highly recommend this tour. Great value for the price.

Great experience! We stopped at 4 different bars (one microbrewery) and enjoyed various local beers and Czech food dishes. During this time our guide Tomas provided a rundown of the local history and culture of beer (from production to the stomach) in Prague/Czech Rep and answered any questions we had. Couldn't ask for more from this tour - my wife and I enjoyed it very much!

Fantastic evening with the BEST guide!

We have been on Viator tours in several cities, and they have been uniformly excellent; thus, we went in with high hopes for the Prague Beer and Tapas tour. I'm pleased to say that the evening exceeded even these high expectations, all due to Eliska, our guide. A graduate student with years in Prague, she knows the city - and its beer - very well indeed, and she shares her knowledge with the comfortable air of a good friend letting you in on the local scene. The other folks on our tour were great, but honestly we might not have known that if we hadn't had such a great host. Eliska balanced information about Prague, Czech history, culture, and politics, and beer in a effervescent mix. Conversation flowed easily. The four bars she picked were each excellent in different ways; she ordered a different plate of tapas in each one (giving us a taste of the different types of beer snacks that Czechs favor), which was more than enough to constitute dinner, especially when paired with the beers. And the beers were great - different enough that you didn't get tired of drinking them - the (compared to the US) relatively low alcohol helped, too. I'm a wine drinker who is only in the last few years tentatively branching out to beer, and I had a great time! We ended up sitting at the last bar for over an hour after the tour was over, talking and drinking with Eliska and our new friends. If I could give this tour six stars, I would!

Lukas made the tour. He chose great local spots, created a fun atmosphere and was very informative. We had enough food and beer to keep us full and happy for the entire time. We enjoyed getting to know our fellow travelers and sharing tips. This was a great way to get outside of the city center and see how the rest of Prague eats and drinks.

Will our guide was fun and very knowledgeable. After our second pub he was able to know each person’s taste in beer and guide us as we went on our beer journey, learning the rich history of beer in Prague. The food was great and didn’t leave you wanting. In fact, I wish I had more of the pickled cheese!
