Be ready for bright and early pickup at your Puerto Plata hotel around 6:30 a.m. Transfer to the waterfront and step aboard the comfortable catamaran, then cruise out of the harbor while enjoying breakfast on board. Watch the sights of the Dominican coastline glide by, including La Isabella, the church founded by Columbus soon after making landfall on the island.
Once you reach a good swimming spot, hop off for a cooling dip in the azure seas before refueling with a lunch of fresh shrimp ceviche. Your captain will power up the engines and set zoom over to Paradise Island, aiming for a late-afternoon arrival that lets you avoid most of the morning crowds. Go ashore and choose to explore on land, swim, or snorkel among the coral and tropical fish. Intro to snorkeling tours are available if you're new to the sport; fins, snorkel, and mask are included for your use.
The day's last activity is a cruise through the mangroves in the national park (entrance fees included). Open bar is available on the boat throughout the day, and you will be returned to your Puerto Plata hotel after the 11-hour excursion.
