Iceland’s otherworldly landscape is filled with wintry wonders fit for a giant. This full day of exploration begins with morning pickup at your Reykjavik hotel in a comfortable coach or minivan. Your first stop is Hraunfossar waterfall, where dozens of cascades stream over a rocky expanse into a milky-blue pool below.
After a local break for lunch (own expense), continue on to the outer edge of Langjökull glacier — the second largest in Iceland. Climb aboard a modified glacier vehicle for your journey across the ice to the entrance of the 1,650-foot (500-meter) tunnel system. Into the Glacier is a series of man-made tunnels and caves allows you to explore the innards of the icy mass for a totally unique experience. Strap on crampons to explore the tunnels by foot, and wander through caves illuminated by a series of glowing electric lights embedded behind the ice.
Your tour concludes in the evening with drop-off back at your Reykjavik hotel.

It was amazing to go up the glacier in the massive vehicle. Got to see the sun through the clouds and would have loved to get out to take a pic! Very informative and even got to meet the bride and groom before the ceremony in the chapel.

It was worth the few hours in the coach to go on the trip. The start of the journey going through Reykjavic was done in the dark, but that was fine as it all looked very pretty lit up for Christmas. The stop off for lunch was very acceptable, as much as you wanted from a buffet, for about 20, including tea or coffee. The last half an hour going across the lava field and up the mountain to the glacier in a converted missile transporter was interesting, and having reached the top, covered in snow, blue skies, beautiful, but after the visit we came down the mountain in a snow storm, guided by GPS. Felt totally safe with the expert guides. Very interesting information whilst being shown around inside the glacier. The only negative remark would be that the guide on the coach trip, for the most part of the day, who happened to be English, was very informative on the journey to the Glacier. He did not really interact with the customers, in the same way that other guides we came across did. Also on the return journey he spent most of the time speaking in Icelandic to the driver, amongst other things discussing the merits of Chelsea. It was a pity that he felt he did not have any other information he could have given us, or encouraged us on any other trips with his company. Reykjavic Excursions. Whilst appreciating that the large coaches could not go into main town centre, he actually dropped us twenty minutes walk away from our hotel, which whilst not a problem with us walking, it was lucky that we had walked around enough to find a suitable landmark to find out way back. We were tight on time for the next trip out that night. The above said, it was a really good excursion and totally recommend this trip. If you have done the Golden Circle then try this trip next, interesting to see the environmental changes in the ice.

I had booked the tour Inside Langjokull Glacier and Ice Cave tour from Reykjavik plus Thingveller National Park,Hot Spring and Hraunfossar Waterfall via Viator I have no problem with Viator prior to leaving my home country. This tour is supplied by Reykjavik Excursions. I had booked this tour because I needed pick up and drop off to hotel and this I had no problem with. The problem with this tour is that it is misleading in the title because of the points listed below 1.The Hot Springs are pointed out if quick enough to see as the bus returned to Reykjavik 2.Thingvellir National Park is only a loo stop 15 mins and then you have to pay 200kn this should be included in tour cost 3.Lunch stop at Husafell there for an hour there is nothing here but holiday rentals and the hotel 4.The stop at Hraunfosser Watefall again paid loos should be in tour price Yes it is a 10 hour day and you can only do so much in a day but I think that the cost of the loos should be included in tour price and if not, listed as what is not included and that more thought be given to the description of the tour. For the reasons listed I rate Reykjavik Excursions an average as I felt the tour as described was not what was given. The Ice Cave tour on the other hand is amazing I have reviewed separately but that is provided separately, Reykjavik Excursions just deliver you there On the positive side the coach was very comfortable, free WIFI, pick up was on time but the tour guide I found a bit disinterested and was just going through the motions. The ice cave tour rates a 5 star but the overall day rates a 4 star for the reasons listed

This was a great tour. On the way to the glacier we got to stop at a couple geothermal sites which were beautiful and awe inspiring. When we got close to the glacier, there were beautiful waterfalls, and volcanoes that kept you wanting more. When we actually got to the glacier it was absolutely stunning, and getting to go inside the glacier was an experience I will never forget. This tour was educational, beautiful, fun, and adventurous. Worth every penny.

This was an absolutely awesome experience. And to think it took 14 months to create this ice tunnel inside the glacier after several years of planning. I was grateful that Viator was able to pick me up at our cruise ship even though it was not the norm for this excursion. A friend booked us with Viator to the Blue Lagoon on this trip, too. Another awesome experience. Iceland is such a beautiful place.
