Enjoy the undivided attention of your private guide on a 10-hour tour to the DMZ. Forget the headache large groups and discomfort of tour buses and relax in private round-trip transportation from your Seoul hotel. There’s no need to fuss over foreign language menus as lunch is provided at a local restaurant. In addition to the usual attractions, the comprehensive itinerary also includes visits to the third infiltration tunnel, Dora Observatory, and Dorasan Station.
I had initially scheduled this tour on a Tuesday. Two days before, the company let me know that the DMZ was unexpectedly closing that day and offered to take me on Monday instead, which I agreed.
On Monday the guide took me to the dmz only for us to find out that it was closed. The guide seemed surprised. I've since realized that it is always closed on Monday and no one offers Monday tours.
We went to the suspension bridge instead and afterwards we found it that the second tunnel was open and went there instead. On the way, I could tell the guide was tired. He was nodding off while driving and swerving in the road. I contacted the tour operator and asked to receive another driver as I didn't feel safe with him driving after he also begun falling asleep on the tour.
The company told me they would be sending another driver, but some time later they contacted me to inform me that they could not because the guide never told them about our change of plans, we were a couple of hours in a different direction.
While the tours themselves were good, and the guide was knowledgeable and did a good job handling things that were not his fault, it was handled very unprofessionally by the company and the guide and let me very frustrated.
