Amazing attention to detail and cultural experience.

Capture Korea (the company that delivers this tour) does a wonderful job in introducing the history and the culture of South Korea to foreign visitors. My tour guide personalized the tour to fit my interest and needs. The Korean folk village is a recreation of multiple ethnic groups from the region detailing the cultural customs. Performances of a traditional Korean wedding, criminal punishments and daily living are recreated by park staff. Scheduled shows for the "common people" and "royal performance" are also on display for a better understanding of this mysterious culture and a big hit with children. Hwaseong Haenggung Palace you learn about the Joseon-era King and the many historical conflicts that Korea has endured over the centuries. Hwaseong fortress an UNESCO world Heritage site my guide explained in detail the history behind this extended walled fort and hike to the various out buildings giving a view of the city while learning the history. Ending this tour in the Gangnam COEX (back in Seoul) completes a historical day with a modern look at South Korean culture. The COEX is a unique ultra-modern shopping experience with something for everyone. There are multiple dining choices for all price ranges and tastes. There is a K pop museum show casing the current movement in the youth of Korean culture and a photo opt in a unique public library inside this multi-level shopping center in the famed Gangnam neighborhood that gained notoriety in the West from the song by PSY, “ Gnagnam Style.” I felt that I have gained a well-rounded understanding of the complex people that live in South Korea today than on the more traditional Seoul City tour that I completed just the day before. I would recommend this tour for people who enjoy history and families with small children. The tour guide was extremely experienced in catering to the interests of the group so this would be a good tour for anyone.
