The area from Gardiner to Cooke City, MT and all across the northern boundary of Yellowstone, provides some of the best wolf habitat in North America. Winter can also bring grazing animals down out of the deep mountain snows, and is the best time to see other animals such as coyotes, foxes, birds of prey, big horn sheep, antelope, bison, elk and moose.
Travel from Yellowstone's North Entrance, near Mammoth Hot Springs, to Cooke City, making plenty of stops for scenic lookouts and photo opportunities. You'll be provided with scopes and binoculars to get great views of the animals at a safe, respectful distance. Along the way, your guide will share their extensive knowledge about the wildlife in the area, including their behavior, biology and conservation status.
Your tour ends with drop-off back at your lodging in Gardiner.
