Great tour and captain was very nice. We had an alternate pickup location that was a little difficult to find but it all worked out

Amazing but cold experience

Amsterdam Light Festival - by Electric Boat | Dec 2019
We liked so much the beauties of the city, but its kind of cold in the boat, so be prepared! When we went the boat was open, so you feel all the cold wind coming from the canals. The captain is really entertaining and make you feel the city differently. Not 5 stars only because for south europe people its really cold.

Hard to find but neat to see Amsterdam at night

Amsterdam Light Festival - by Electric Boat | Dec 2019
The boat was hard to find. There's no signage, but we saw a boat dock, went there, and there were some people wearing shirts with the company logo. Despite having reserved spots a few days earlier, there were not 3 seats together when we got on the boat. Instead of splitting up, one of our group ended up precariously balancing the whole ride. The light show apparently changes every year, and there were certainly some neat parts, but where we were on the boat it was not always the easiest to see. We also were not near the drinks, and while the captain got some of the other guests to pass some around, there were no hot beverages - just cold sodas & wine & beer - unappealing on a cold night. Also, apparently you have to get your free beverage at the beginning of the ride? I wanted one later in the ride, but at that point the driver was asking people to pay - assuming that everyone had already had one. It wasn't exactly organized, so I just skipped it rather than even ask. The captain was very nice and knowledgable about the city.

Amsterdam Light Festival - by Electric Boat | Dec 2019
Getting tickets was fine, few days prior to event location and time was changed, when I emailed to query address of location I got a reply back saying I had already been sent new location and time, yet town hall was not near water!!!! I eventually got an address which has completely different details on which I had not received before but as I was at least near water went to that address. We eventually found it at amstrel 11 not 7 as I was told, and to be honest when the guy looked at our tickets I'm not sure 100% if he recognised the paperwork or not, however we were looking forward to the cruise and were already stressed by this point so just got on, the guy himself was lovely were funny. Tour was nice but dont think I would use viator for tickets again

Disappointing overall

75-minute Canal Cruise in Amsterdam and 2 drinks included | Sep 2018
We took the 75-minute canal “Cruise Like a Local boat” tour with KinBoat on September 9, 2018. Our boarding time was 8 pm but KINBoat changed the cruise time from 8 to 8:30pm without in anyway informing us. As a result, we waited for 45 minutes for the boat to arrive. Before the wait at the loading platform we had to run from one platform to the other (there are few loading platforms in the area) as there were no clear directions or signs as to which platform we had to board from. And finally, the guide did a poor job of narrating the tour. He neither introduced himself nor gave a description of the tour. We had to ask several times to point out the sights and explain. Overall, we were disappointed with the tour.

Nice boat ride with view of the water colors. Multiple boats leaving around the same time so no risk of missing the boat. Staff was friendly and knowledgable.

Amsterdam Light Festival - by Electric Boat | Jan 2018

Meh. The company that was operating the boats were all very nice. It's very hard to see out of the small boats and there isn't that much to see. I ended up looking at the back of the Captians head the whole time. There was hot chocolate at the front of the boat, but when you are packed in like sardines, who could get up and go get it. The guide was nice. I'm giving 3 starts because of how nice the captain and the staff were the experience, and the number of people on the boat would have given it a one star. If I ever revisited and had family or friends that had never gone, I would certainly not sit though it again.. You would have as much fun and could see as much by taking a walk. If they had the burger or pizza cruises, it would have also been cool, but it appears that those are suspended during the Light Festival. If you want to take your kids to see lights, they will hate it and be on their phones/iDevices at all time. Thank you for the problem free trip but it was just a meh.

Amsterdam Small-Group Canal Cruise with Drinks | Oct 2017

Debated whether to take this due to few viator reviews but so glad we did. Sandra did an amazing job showing us around the more local areas of Amsterdam. The drinks were great, commentary fabulous and didn't feel as touristy as the other canal cruises. Highly recommend!

Amsterdam Small-Group Canal Cruise with Drinks | Sep 2017

Great option for people who don't want the anonymity and robot-voice of the larger hour long cruises but don't want to spend the time or money for a private boat tour. This was relatively quick and very enjoyable.

Very fun boat trip around the outer canals of Amsterdam.
The guide was fun and informative.
If you're looking for one of those eighty seat tourist type boats, this isn't for you, but
for us, it was perfect.

75-minute Canal Cruise in Amsterdam with Complementary Drinks | Jul 2016

I really liked the size of the boat and that it was new. They make you pour your own drinks which would be fine but when the boat is crowded it gets really awkward, and the boat by the end was overcrowded. It would be nice if they provided individual bottle drinks including sodas and allowed a few less people on board. Other than that, the cruise was really nice and relaxing. Nice info from the guide and the boat was able to cruise down some of the narrower canals which was a fun way to see the city. It had a covered section as well if you don't like sun/rain.

75-minute Canal Cruise in Amsterdam with Complementary Drinks | Jul 2016

Loved this Canal Cruise. There was just one other couple on the boat and it was wonderful.

FYI - If you want to see the Anne Frank House, don't try to use Viator. You have to order the tickets from annefrank.org. We got misinformed by Viator early on and by the time I realized they could not sell tickets, we could only buy one ticket for the day we were in town. Luckily, I asked and they did sell us another so my husband could also go in.

75-minute Canal Cruise in Amsterdam with Complementary Drinks | Jul 2016

I took the tour at the beginning of June and I really enjoyed it. I don't like big tours and this one was perfect. We were only 9 people in the boat, so it was easy to ask questions and interact with the guide. I will recommend the tour to anyone who want's to see more than the big canals.
