Excellent wine and great prices. Fairview had excellent wine and cheese pairings. The wine was also very affordable. Staff was knowledgeable and personable. Marianne also excellent with nice jerky pairings. The staff went above and beyond and the sunset views were outstanding. Our guide Marco was excellent as well.

Awesome morning in a Stellenbosch

It was a great half day tour that we had in Stellenbosch: both wine farms were beautiful, good wines and great attention! Our guide (Marco) was also a great company for the day with a lot of knowledge of the wineries! Totally recommended

More of a driver experience than a real tour

Shane is a hardworking guy and a great driver. I thought the first winery was great but we stayed way too long. He should’ve been far more active in setting expectations of when to leave instead of leaving it to us. Guidance at the beginning was we’d get back to Cape Town at 6;00-6:30. It was 730. I’d just make it more tight and organized. Also give more guidance about where we’re driving and tell some stories.

Vino, History, and Conversation

The weather was not great for viewing the grounds, but the wine, cheese, and company were great. Our driver/guide shared information about the wines and the process of creating them, and the wineries gave plenty of information about the wines. I ended up buying 4 bottles at the two vineyards we visited. Make sure that you eat a good lunch before going though, as there are 11 tastings at two wineries over a 2-3 hour period of time.

Amazing tour to two very different vineyards for wine tasting. Guide Shane was great, knowledgable about the area and kept us informed of the areas we were visiting every step of the way. Fantastic introduction to the winelands surrounding Cape Town.

Marco our tour guide had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history of Cape Town and most importantly wine and grapes. The two vineyards were very picturesque, with great photo opportunities on the Terrance at Mariannes’ vineyard. Tastings with cheese at fairview and tastings with Biltong at Marianne. There was just 2 of us on this tour and Marco made sure it was a very personal but also left us to it when drinking and taking in the sun and the view. Would recommend to anyone!

Was a great trip to two wine estates. First one had 6 tastes with cheese to compliment each wine and the second had six with meat. The driver knew a lot about wine but also many other topics and made the 40 minute drive each way pleasant and engaging. Would recommend it strongly.

Well organised, small group. Very good value. Visited two wineries and the staff there were friendly and knowledgeable. Only very minor negative is that we only got 20 minutes to look round Stellenbosch, would have been nice to have longer there.

Great get away from a dreary day in Cape Town

It was a dreary day in Cape Town so we decided to book this tour and pleased that we did. The guide was friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable. We visited two wineries and both were stunning. The staff were friendly, and extremely knowledgeable with lovely cheeses in the Fairview winery that perfectly accompanied the seven wines that we sampled . At the Marianne winery there were lovely traditional dried meats for myself with hummus and dried fruits for my vegetarian wife that accompanied the six wines that we sampled there. Topped off with a leisurely stroll around Stellenbosch. A great day out.

Along with tasting some fantastic South African wines, my best memory of my tour is the courtesy, friendliness, and knowledge shown by our tour guide, Mario. I learned so much about the South African wine country and its people. He explained every part of the tour prior to departing which made us very comfortable. We joked around, smiled a lot and just had an amazing time!!!

Visited Fairview and Mirabelle estates. The Fairview tasting is wonderful, but they did not have chairs. It was quite a long time of standing and drinking. Mirabelle had a better spread of snacks, and chairs, but less inspiring wines. All the staff were lovely. The pours are not stingy, so if you want to, you can definitely get a good buzz with this tour! Driver Shane was great!

This tour was conducted in an amateurish fashion. The car that was used was older and noisy and only moderately comfortable. The first winery Fairview was a real treat once we arrived. The offering of several wines and cheese pairings was truly a treat. The second winery offered dried wild meats with the tasting and it really wasn’t to our liking.

We are shocked to read that you were not satisfied with your experience with us as it seemed liked you had so much on tour with the group. When your guide met with you and your wife at the hotel you were not very open to engage in conversation. However, when a group of ladies joined the group you became very happy and friendly as well as open to engage in conversation with the group. You had so much fun that at every opportunity you assisted the ladies in and out of the vehicle. Your guide asked if everyone is open to try some local food paired with wines, which you agreed. The dried wild meats is very traditional and local to South Africans. Therefore, as explained to you the purpose of the tour is to introduce the group to what locals eat as an authentic experience. However, it is understandable if you do not enjoy the food of locals, which is completely fair as you are not used to it. It seemed like you enjoyed yourself so much that at every opportunity when your guide was providing information to the group about the soil, grapes and culture about South African wine you interrupted the guide to showcase your knowledge of wines to the ladies (which is a bit disrespectful towards the guide) or perhaps that was your way of engaging in conversation with the ladies on tour with you. As for the vehicle being not up to your standard, the rest of the group had no complaints. However, we will look into it. Therefore, your review is a shock to us as you were very happy with the group and became very friendly towards your guide. However, I am sure it would not be very appropriate to write a review to how much you enjoyed the day with the group as it could possibly inconvenience things for you. I hope you enjoyed our beautiful city.
