When your cruise ship pulls into port in George Town, explore West Bay and other western Grand Cayman highlights by open-air Land Rover. Your 3.5-hour shore excursion aboard a 4x4 safari-style vehicle includes a drive down a secluded, mangrove-lined stretch of beach in Barker’s National Park; spiky limestone crags near the town of Hell; hands-on fun at the Cayman Turtle Farm; and sweet tastings at the Tortuga Rum Cake Store. This small-group tour is limited to eight passengers for personalized attention from your informative guide.
  • 3.5-hour tour of western Grand Cayman Island aboard an open-air 4x4 Land Rover
  • Ride through Barker’s National Park and discover a quiet beach with dense mangroves
  • Stop by Hell, a small town with a field of jagged limestone formations
  • Taste Tortuga rum cake and purchase some from the popular bakery to take home
  • Observe sea turtles at a research and conservation center and learn about their role in Caymanian history
  • Small-group tour limited to eight ensures a personalized experience
  • Covered by Viator’s worry-free policy: guaranteed on-time return to your ship
After port pickup in George Town, climb aboard an open-air Land Rover for your 4x4 tour of western Grand Cayman. Nearing West Bay, rumble along a deserted expanse of shoreline bordered on one side by the sparkling Caribbean Sea and by thick mangroves on the other. Listen as your guide explains features of Barker’s National Park, which encompasses a 100-acre (40-hectare) nature preserve.
Then head straight to Hell — a small coastal town where you can send mail postmarked with the curious town name. Disembark your vehicle at a viewing platform to observe the black limestone rock for which the town was named.
After learning about the geological formations, continue on by Land Rover to the Tortuga Rum Cake Factory for a delectable tasting of this Caribbean specialty. See rum cakes being glazed by hand with oak-barrel-aged Tortuga Gold Rum, then sample uniquely flavored rum cake — including Blue Mountain coffee, coconut and key lime — available to purchase and take back with you to the ship.
Next up is a sea turtle research and conservation center: Cayman Turtle Farm. Learn how the turtle meat industry of the 17th and 18th centuries led to the development of the Cayman Islands. Marvel at 500-lb (226-kg) green sea turtles.
Finally, enjoy one last ride in the Land Rover back to the George Town port.
Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to George Town port for your ship’s departure. In the extremely unlikely event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

Our tour guided was knowledgeable and fun. The Cayman Turtle Centre was a fabulous experience!! Seeing all of the sea turtles, learning about them, and getting to hold them was so much fun :) The mangroves are beautiful, the beaches peaceful. It would be helpful to have a better idea of where to meet after disembarking the ship.

The only thing worthwhile on this tour was the turtle sanctuary, the rest was just a ride that could have been performed by any service. Very disappointed in the experience!

The tour guide was very nice. The Land Rover is a open jeep where you share with about 6 other people, it was fairly comfortable, but of course no air conditioning. Our guide drove us to a few spots, including the town of Hell, and the protected beach that was off road. The tasting for the rum and cake is done at a very busy gift shop, so it is not a factory or there is no tour information on the rum or cake. The turtle farm is great, and a great place to learn about the turtles. The longest stop is at the turtle farm, and the other stops are a few minutes. There is not a lot of information on the island, and it's not comfortable, but it was enjoyable for me. My husband said he would have given 2 stars.

It started off a bit scary as we weren't exactly sure where to meet our guide at the cruise port....and then, we had to go to a hotel to pick up other people. After that though, the tour was amazing!! Our guide was friendly and thorough. He told us all about the island and the things we were seeing. He was funny and interactive. We went to Hell, the Rum Cake factory yum! and the turtle farm! Our guide even allowed us to go back to a restaurant that was not yet open when we went by the first time so that we could grab a bite and a drink. I would DEFINITELY recommend this tour!!

Wonderful tour! Well worth the money. We were visiting Grand Cayman for one day as part of a Disney Cruise. Our guide Brian found us right away when we arrived off the ship. He was very informative and friendly. We are a family of five with three daughters: 12, 9, and 6. Their favorite part was the turtle farm! We wish we had more time so Brian could have given us a tour of the East Side of the Island. I guess their is always next time! It was so nice to get away from the crowds of people and have a private tour. We highly recommend it!

We booked the tour through Viator because we did not want to send money to the tour operator directly. We had emailed the tour operator before booking with Viator, but did not get any response from tour operator. After we booked with Viator, we were told by Viator that the tour operator could not confirm the tour. Viator told us to contact the tour operator directly to check on our reservation. The tour operator never returned our emails. We emailed them 3 times before and during the cruise. We waited at the port for about an hour and did not find anyone from the company. Viator was wonderful The promptly returned out money. Thank you Viator for watching out for us. That is why we booked through Viator.

Our guide, Brian, arrived promptly at the designated time and proceeded to give an excellent tour. We did have the advantage of being the only ones on the tour so effectively had a personal experience so we were not rushed.

We could have organised a very similar trip from the crusie liner at twice the cost and would have spent less time at each stop, so all-in-all a good decision to use Viator and would definately look at future shore excursions through them.
