Upon arrival at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, learn about its natural beauty, culture and history. The park was founded by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1994, and has since entered multiple award-winning displays in the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show. Phase I of the gardens features the Cayman Islands' native flora, and Phase II displays a variety of traditional Caymanian gardens.
Enjoy a stroll by the lake, peruse the multicolored Heritage Garden, and make your way through the network of nature trails. Stop at the Tea House to enjoy its panoramic views of the entire property.
Happen upon some of the native Blue Iguanas as you walk the trails in the garden. These creatures were once nearly extinct, and the Botanic Garden is the center of the National Trust's Blue Iguana Recovery Program. The prehistoric-looking creatures are known to bask in the sunlight on the Woodside Trail, so watch your step and keep your camera at hand.
After approximately 3 hours of sightseeing in these lush tropical gardens, enjoy drop-off at your hotel back in Georgetown.
